You use momentum in VT as an indicator and mentioned many times the 50 line. But VT's momentum looks range from -0.0xxx to +0.0xxx usually, what is the 50 line you mentioned? Do you mean 0.0050 actually?

The 50 is on the QQE indicator.

Markam, I like your scalping strategy and I see that you changing it slightly depending upon wheather it s Asian, Europe and US sessions. We all would appreciate it greatly if you could put it all together and post it here or in Aus's other thread. May be all could learn and use it when the market is ranging and relatively quiet.

Thank you so much for the info. This is great! I use M1 during the overlap of European and New York (if I happen to be up during this time). Scalping can reduce the boredom while waiting for a larger move in bigger TF, plus, it is quite profitable. Must have a quick finger and not greedy .BR

BTW, I love the ignore feature. First time I use it too. It is important to be able to focus on Auslanco's and other experts' analyses for the common goals of learning and making $. Cheers . BR

I'm not so sure that I have that much to put together. For GJ trading, I look for periods when the market is quiet but still moving up and down in fairly regular waves. The asian session from about 10pm to 1-2 pm (eastern time) is often like that. I use the 5-minute charts and look for turnovers in both the QQE (added because Aus turned me on to it) and the parabolic sar. If both flip during ranging periods, they almost always stay flipped for a significant amount of time (30-60+ minutes). GJ might trend some against the direction indicated by QQE/sar, but at some point it will almost always put your entry into profit.

Sometimes I actually jump in before the flip of one or both indicators, hoping to get a bigger payoff. It is better to let them flip and look for a pullback before entering. That way you can get a better entry point than the initial flip point, and are more confident that the trend in your direction will continue than you would be if you entered before the flip.

It is slow and can put you to sleep, but it can work. The most important thing to remember for scalping is that it is better to lose most of your profits than have a loss. If my entry has gone at least 5 pips or so into profit, I will not let stay open back into negative. Sometimes you might have situation where you have 20-30 pips profit and then it turned against you. You keep your order open, hoping to get back to your original profit and you turn your profit into a loss. Close it, even if you only have 1 pip of profit left. It is much much better to lose 29 pips of profit than 30 pips of profit and 20 pips of capital.

I have only been working on the dow scalping since we discovered the great correlation. The dow is most active first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon. In the morning, the market will set a floor and ceiling for the day, which are usually respected until the end of the session. After the market calms down, I will watch for a bounce off of the floor or ceiling of the dow and enter. Then I just watch the dow motion and hope I have a situation where the dow is going to drift all the way to the other barrier. Sometimes you have a situation where the dow hits the ceiling bounces down a little and then turns back up. In those situations, I don't worry so much about letting my entry turn negative. I know the market will likely just bounce again off the ceiling and then go down.

You might only get 1-2 scalps during the calm period of the dow, and 1-3 scalps during a 4 hour quiet period in the asian session. And of course, many days you can't do any scalps. But if you want to try it, feel free. Just be cautious and protect your capital.

I hope this helps. I don't consider myself an expert on scalping. This is just what I have been doing.

No, that's not what i'm asking, i understand the "50" line in the stratedgy. but Auslanco himself also use momentum as a powerful indicator (refer his posts earlier). However, there seems no such 50 line for momentum, although his chart does show a red line that I don't know about the value.

May I butt in? I can't pull up VT charting software at this moment but as I recall, and referring to past posts on this thread (#5513 as an example)

That red dotted line you are referring to on the momentum screen is actually a zero line of reference... as it traces above it is a positive bullish value and below a negative bearish value. Though it doesn't say zero but looking at the scale to the right you'll see it is. If you need to draw a line on your chart or verify that it is zero, you can find the point that actually says (0) by using the crosshairs feature that references time (y axis -vertical) and price (x axis -horizontal) at any point on your price chart and slide the cursor down below your price chart to the indicator screens to the momentum screen. There it should give you an exact point on the scale to return to with a red line. This is how I accurately found and drew my 50 line for QQE.

WOW, i am blown away by your kind thoughts ash, ovidiu, fxnewb. my intension was not to try and get sympathy, but show that people like aus and your caring selves, can do for others such as give hope, that life can improve and will. thanks again forever greatful

Just one more thing before i go, something came to my mind yesterday.

i will not mention there names, (because aparently it upsets then). But i am starting to believe they are employees of broker companies, and are bent over hard by all of our trades which is thanks to aus's technic. They are probably desperate to stop this thread by throwing mud on auslancos name. i say keep on screwing them aus, karmo, markam i know we are sore from them giving it to us recently such as bigger spreads and requotes and freez's.LOL

But in all seriousness, i encourage all to chill out and not reply to the negative few. there is nothng worse in human society than being ignored. they will eventualy implode after the silent treatment and disapear. Keep it positive and lets work together..........Bill77

Do I feel a new thread coming on... A, now K and maybe
an M... fundamentally speaking, if you know what I mean.

Mark Douglas in his book, "Trading in the Zone" observes where
once all traders were fundamentalist (pre 80's) they have
been replaced by technical analysts who dominate to this day.

He points out, "...except for some small, isolated pockets in
the academic community, the 'purely' fundamental analyst is
virtually extinct."

Now, no one is calling you a dinosaur.

His first few chapter address the practical differences between
the two and how fundamentals point to 'what should be' while
technicals reveal 'what is'. He talks about the 'reality gap' between
the two.

Of course, he promotes 'mental analysis' and how it transforms
these two approaches into consistent profits. Without m/a, all
the t/a and f/a in the world won't keep your account from slipping
into an ice age and to extinction.

hi markam

i actually follow the same strategy for scalping
the main thing is that pullback bro-- i used to enter on the psar change then after nemrous trades i found out that the more succesful/bigger gain trades were if u were to have patience and wait for a pullback of 10-30 pips from the close of the candle of that first psar change
many times i now wait for a 10 pip pull back and get in with half a position and then if it pulls back another 15 pips enter a second position---s/l would be if psar reverses in this pullback or else wait for a large t/p
i also keep the 15min psar direction in mind for appropriate t/p taking

on a side note--scalping needs a lot of screen time and u need to learn the price action of gbp/jpy---
demo it first and trade evry small amounts if ure new to it
greed and emotions can wipe your account (quicker in scalping)

Am I the only one here who thinks that GJ will still go down? (after a temporary upswing) I don't think the basic subprime issue has been solved by a cut in the discount rates - this just soothes the pain a bit, but the underlying pathology remains.
