i've made a small change to my MACD and ema's
MACD is now set as 10, 20, 9
Ema's are 5, 12, 26
The 26 ema on the chart is my zero line for the MACD which is set as 20, when the MACD line cross the zero line and price is across the 26 ema this is a warning that MAYBE direction is changing. I use a higher time frame chart for conformation like a 15 or 30 min chart.
I like the ema's set at these settings for now, as time goes by I might change them.
The 12 ema is used to exit trades, once price is determined long or short I will exit a trade when price crosses the 12 ema.
Indicators still lag of course however I'm able to read them all together a bit better. the 5ema acts as the MACD line, I did have this set to 3 however found it to fast on the 1min chart, 5ema seems to be a bit better.
I changed the actual MACD to 10, 20 leaving the signal line at 9. I like to keep a MACD on my charts for reference only.
Longs are only taken when the MACD line is above the MACD zero line, reverse this for short.
I scalp the NQ on 1min charts so there's plenty of scalping to be done sticking to the rules.
Chart with two arrows, entry taken when price crossed the ema's, exit when pricess crossed the 12 ema
Third chart attached, 15min and 1min, you can see that the 15min was moving up and the 1min was in long positing for me to enter, I did jump the gun a bit and this time it paid off.
