Blue's Clues to Trading: Timing Levels and Behaviour of Price

Similar for 2:30pm UK time (NY open) - I set pre open support and resistance lines on Roadmap. You wait and take a losing long above support and break of 2:30pm ORB ( no short trades as price is well above previous support and just above past resistance -resistance becomes support. The oval is where price goes long successfully above Roadmap channel - above new resistance turned support -again. And above vwap deviation channel line ( dotted line).
I will not post any more charts because I feel they are nothing like Blue's or anyone else's chart. In short I am back to my original approach with the addition of a tool from this thread to add a spot of confluence. I am also a firm believer inPrice, time, levels. This is an excellent thread. Another example of the FF-Flex is when someone continually posts to a thread about how their way is better than the approach presented in the thread.

Such people are weak and in need of external validation, i.e. they need others to validate their self-worth. The irony, of course, is that such people are unaware of their need for external validation and thus believe themselves superior to others when in fact their behavior is glaring evidence of their weakness to those who know.

Well, back to the tools at hand ... the circled areas are all places where I'd be entering scalps targeting the next level up (for longs) and down for shorts. I'm still using my trusty pivotal points, but the additional volume derived levels generated by Blue's Clues are money. "breakout mode" is a frame I took from Too Slow's threads here at FF. What great place this place can be.

I'm (like) almost brand new here and started dipping my toe into Forex very recently having been influenced by a couple of YouTubers I won't mention. I got tired of NASDAQ small caps with warrant, bogus news, reverse splits, buyouts, pump and dumps like 75 million shares traded one day in two hours and 20k the next with no way out but a suicide note metaphorically speaking. So I come across this 'conflict' and think to myself... is this another Fakebook or X with name calling and another group of mindless adolescents with nothing better to do than spit hate balls like two year old babies looking for attention? Really, its kinda sad, because when you are sitting at home in your 70's with only a dog to bond with (far better than my X and it wasn't ALL her fault, just most of it) this trading gig gets really boring and its nice to have a little contact with the outside world. I might not leave the house and speak to another soul for 3 more days so I just want add my two cents and say its a little bit disappointing assuming that likely everyone in here is past puberty.

A lot of us came to Forex after getting burned out on stocks or other markets, so what you described about small caps definitely resonates. It’s true, the bickering can sometimes make it feel more like social media than a trading forum, which is a shame since most of us are here to learn and connect. Your perspective is a good reminder that behind every screen name is a real person with real experiences. I don't know if this makes sense to anyone looking at this screen grab of my chart, but it doesn't take but a few days to really get quite comfortable with the information displayed here and to be able to use it to create an actionable trading plan.

Previous weekly high and low, previous daily high and low, previous day close, today's globex open, VWAP, point of control, and the value area high and low. It almost becomes a roadmap unto itself. Almost!

Next step is working on some initial balance ideas that Blue has given me.

There is a single tool that combines all three -

Volume Profile
VWAP
IB

And it also has pre-loaded important levels from the previous day with just a single click of a mouse.

I am a big fan of the “Jigsaw” DOM to aid my trade decisions and it has all three plus much much more.
I don’t believe there would be a seven figure a year Future traders any where in the world that doesn’t use a DOM.

Its complexity and the learning curve needed to tame this beast is immense, but it’s a journey for me that helped me understand how the big players trap traders on the wrong side of the market was game changing.

Some days I trade naked with Zero charts and just watch how price reacts with the volume profile as it hits important levels. I normally add a Vista Chart (heat map) to see where the trapped traders are to enhance my experience.

Bottom line, I am still trading off VWAP & Volume profile signals - just using a different viewpoint.

PS. There isn’t one DOM trader in the world that has a trading edge using Resting Order Size for their trade decisions. It’s a misconception that most retail traders think they are looking at individual Order Size - but they actually never look.

Im looking into trading with volume.
I mod this script for gold. If used on other assets, can lower % settings.

VWAP with delta bubbles.

That’s what I like to see deafpostman, another trader realising the power of Delta trading on Futures Markets.
I think Delta is the only useful orderflow tool that still works in today’s Algorithm environment we trade in.

I was doing some research with a few traders I have known for years and we found that at least 40% of all trades are just “wash trades” from market makers to increase volume levels to satisfy their volume quota they need to meet. That means that they are just trading 1 tick up and down basically to themselves to raise volume numbers. The only way to avoid trading while they are “doing their washing” is to wait for Delta breakouts because this eliminates “wash trades volume”

So trading with Delta is our last frontier I reckon, please explore this area further.
