When you are using Volume Profile....Yes the levels will move.

I like to use composite profiles basically meaning more than the current days.
Especially when markets Initial Balance and Closing price are near to each other day to day
other way of saying ranging...as we have to remember the market is only 20% retail.

There are much larger traders holding positions so these Vol Pro POC levels become very very important
on a multi day basis...

Thur Fri are a great example as notice on my charts... The POC point of control(Chop) does not change
from Thursdays close thru fridays close... VAH VAL yes as the market expands and contracts but POC no..

When one fully grasps the power of these INSTITUTIONAL tools
it as as close as one can get to the Holy Grail(Chart Wise)

And if one is so inclined to go down the rabbit hole further into cum.delta Footprint charts etc
its a further detailed insight look into the market...Me I am more simple and this is all I need.

CME uses VWAP to calculate many of their levels pertaining to Interest Rates...
To settlement,,,,to fixing prices for Crypto for Options and Currencies

Institutional traders performance is graded on how well they have transacting to VWAP.
Institutional traders use VWAP as a benchmark to transact at,,,,

Look at my chart...Why the ranging market at Vol POC and prev Days NY VWAP ?
When markets are ranging its not the little guys diddling around..It is large volume
acquiring positions.

Enough ranting....either you get it or you dont lol... But dont worry I will keep on
posting about it in various forms as I know once it clicks it will change your trading
and up your game with a much clearer view of the markets.

Those(in bold) are strong fighting words, indicating that 18 years of search(Blue, as of 2007) for Holy Grail, stops here for Blue.

Maaaaaaaaan...I am challenging myself to start following it more closely.

P.S. I apologize to my buddy RickM , who I did not listen previously on the volume subject, but these magic words "Holy Grail" were never spoken as loudly as they are this time around.

Hahaha ,,Well you do know that first and foremost in my opinion.. Mindset is King,,,Hence my signature.

I guess its a point of what makes sense to us each individually.. But for a lack of a better word as an "indicator"
I dont think nothing comes close. so i had to use that Buzzzzzword Holy Grail lol...to solicit the viewing audience lol..

But I know how it is... I dont like change and adding new things to my trading etc etc...I guess tho sometimes

Mr. Blue, that means you've been in this industry for 2 decades. But I believe that you've adapted the current vwap/levels method in the last 3-4 years. May I know what method you used to follow before and what is the reason for the change. Do you believe that the markets change and the trading methods won't work overtime and one has to keep on updating the methods?

My trading hasnt changed. Only evolved... No I dont believe markets change... Only volatility changes.
Humans are the same since the creation of markets... Markets run on human psychology...and basic
human psychology has not changed. There is nothing new under the Sun.

Take for example this chart...

It could be the Eur/USD or it could be Oil or anything really..
It could be a second chart a minute chart a daily chart etc....
It could be from Friday or 100+ years ago ? Really Blue ?

I have always been fond of Fibs and the 50% level of moves.

Amazing really, coming from different angles and maybe different way of looking at markets but..

Blue, when displaying charts next time, perhaps include Dow futures and a little write up on what meaningful lines and/or VWAP lines you are looking at to make a trading decision in which areas to enter the trade. Would be nice to see consistency throughout the week.

There will be a person who most likely will say, 'No, Blue does not have to do that, blah blah blah", but never the less I asked for the sake of consistency from this thread owner.

What !!! 50% retracement 125 years ago !..Trendlines...Fibs
Nothing new ,,,a chart is a chart.

So no markets dont change.... Volume Volatility thats about it....

I actually marked up some YM charts earlier today and again right now...

Some basics I work from and I think can be very advantageous to traders.

VWAPS I use.

Session (starts at 6pm NY) Globex open and resets daily
Weekly
Monthly
Anchored VWAP to Volume anomalys sometimes as well as a major High Low often provides a very good narrative as to
whom is in the money and who is trapped.

As well when I trade NY I always look at first are we near Monthly VWAP &1SD,,next Weekly ? Next VWAP
anchored to the Prev Days NY open i.e 930am then finally Globex/Session VWAP..

ANd really a glance is all it takes to see what is near and likely in play.

So now as a new week starts the weekly VWAP will just show like the session until Tuesday...

Let the charts do the speaking and make this clear

Weekly VWAP starts and stops on the week....But going into Mon and Tues Last weeks levels can be extremely important.
As we have to remember we are retail..the small fish..The 80% that compromises the market will be holding and accumulating
positions,,unlike retail that are normally flat at EOD.

Soooo Weekly VWAP starts stops as per below chart.

So the workaround is simply attach an anchored VWAP to the prev weeks open like this. ABsolute barn burner trades
present themselves when you do this...I carry over the last weeks VWAP until its irrelevant at least Mon Tues.

THe same principle applies to the Monthly...When a new month starts I anchor to the Prev months open so the data carries thru.
I will also say I have not seen anyone anywhere discuss this and how to apply...I assure you it is Gold.
I will provide some further charts I marked up earlier to provide examples...

Here August Monthly VWAP as it comes to a close and Sept starts.
So Same process,,I anchor a VWAP to Aug open so it overlays AUg and continues into Sept
Sept 4th an A+ setup long where Price goes into Price Discovery on both the Weekly VWAP\
and on the extension of Augusts monthly VWAP..

Again same process when starting a new week... ANchor to prev weeks open to give us relevant
levels thru the start of new week... Its all fractal

I'm just spectating (as opposed to speculating) this evening.

If you trade the profile levels, take your losses when wrong, and stay focused, it is really a neat way to frame the market. Again, using an M1 line on close, because I'm vidvad ... Vidvad D'Sonovabicci.
