Using the ratio of the current close price to the current candle range, for the current or higher tf is perfectly acceptable. All methods of %range, %change, ma slopes/distances, indicator values, indexes, over short or longer periods, are all purely preferential, none is more or less accurate than another for each's own style, like picking a ma method or length as most accurate.

I disagree with every word of your post, and in fact, I think what you wrote is downright stupid.

That's exactly what it looks like. It's terribly ugly code. I wouldn't even poke it with a stick. If you like that code, I can't even imagine what yours might look like.

For example, it doesn't work with my broker either.

This cannot happen with better brokers, as it is precisely these "ghost symbols" that can cause major problems for programs. If you are with such a broker, I advise you to change it urgently.

I think you've misunderstood this a little. It's simple, let me explain.
If you set a TF to reverse, you will get a reverse signal there (when the real direction is bullish, it will show a downward arrow, and when the real direction is bearish, it will show an upward arrow).
You will receive a signal when all arrows point in the same direction. You did not receive an alert where you showed it because the M15 signals point in the opposite direction to the other TFs. This means that the actual direction on the M15 is the same as on the other TFs, so there is no pullback on M15 - thus, no signal.
So, the bottom line is: with the reverse setting, you will naturally receive a signal that is opposite to the actual direction.

Hello WM,
I've been on FF for a while now, although only sporadically lately.
Now I'll tell you something you already know:
Being good at your subject and being good at psychology/communication – sometimes they're two different things.

I like what you offer here as a programmer, selflessly and noticeably user-friendly. I also like that, after a heated exchange, you've refrained from continuing to ban BestTraderEV and Jeanlouie.
What I don't like isn't worth mentioning, since you know your own strengths and weaknesses.

Conclusion: Over time, synergies could develop between you highly valued experts.
Or pointless trench warfare.
The latter would be stupid.

However, there are two ideas I came up with which (according to your time schedule) might interest you and this community of traders. It has to do with what is commonly called "Head and Shoulders" pattern reversal strategy.

"The head and shoulders is a pattern used by traders to identify price reversals. A bearish head and shoulders has three peaks, with the middle one reaching higher than the other two. It indicates a reversal of an upward trend."

If for instance there's a head and shoulders pattern on a particular timeframe like the H4 timeframe, which is bearish and on the dashboard for instance it shows as an arrow pointing down, will it also produce arrows pointing down on the other lower timeframes H1, M15, M5???

Or you can just create a dashboard that detects head and shoulders reversal pattern on any timeframe. if this doesn't make sense, just squash it then.

...the second idea has to do with a certain MT4 indicator called step-nema. I'll share some screenshots later so you can have a perfect understanding of what I'm talking about.

As I have already stated several times, I do not accept individual requests. If I did, I would receive 50 requests a day. Therefore, it is only fair that I do not make exceptions. I don't have time for this, my own projects take up all my time.
Of course, you can share your ideas here, I will read them, and if any of them are interesting, I will make a note of them and maybe do them later.
But that's what this thread is for, try it there.
As for H&S: I studied this topic a long time ago, but I found that there was no advantage to it. In hindsight, the H&Ss that worked look good on the chart, but you don't even notice the ones that didn't. And there are more like that. I will change my opinion if someone can statistically prove that H&S is productive.

I spent some time thinking about (and programming) how to include gold (and other "currencies" besides the base currencies, such as silver, oil, bitcoin, and some exotic currencies like MXN, ZAR, DKK, etc.) in the CSM.
The task is more difficult than I had initially thought, and it is completely different from the approach I used in the case of WM4X-CSM.

Let's look at the main points:
1./
The WM4X-CSM method cannot be used because it is not possible to pair every participant with every other participant, since, for example, XAUCAD or NZDMXN do not exist at brokers.
2./
It follows from point 1 that a common denominator must be found among all participants. The above-mentioned currencies have a common element that can be used to compare them with each other. This is the USD. This is the reference point.
3./
The ROC-based method used at WM4X-CSM does not work in this case. This is because we want to compare apples with oranges. What do I mean by this? Base currencies can be compared beautifully with each other based on ROC (this gives the most accurate results), because we get the results by comparing each currency with all the other currencies, so they are in the same order of magnitude, as they are balanced out in a sense. However, gold, for example, plays in a completely different range. Specifically, while the base currencies range between 0 and 1 percent (ROC value) on the monthly chart, gold and silver range between 6 and 7 percent. Thus, the ROC-based approach gives extreme values, which are meaningless when compared with each other.
4./
It follows from point 3 that we need normalized values instead of raw values. And here comes the main question: what should these be? For now, I have only looked at the MT4 oscillators, of which the RSI seems to be the most useful, but even this is not really good (the difference between the last two values would provide the basis for the calculation). This is because the RSI curve flattens out as it moves towards the two extremes (0 and 100). Therefore, for example, even if the price of gold rose more than, say, the EUR, if the RSI of gold was already above 90 (from here, the RSI only rose by 2), and that of the EUR was only 60 (from here, the RSI could easily rise by 5 - the previous figures are only illustrative). This will make the EUR appear stronger than gold, even though it is not.
In addition, different RSI periods result in quite different rankings.
5./
It does not help much if we take the RSI value itself as the strength value (i.e., not the rate of increase/decrease). That would basically just be an RSI sequence. The flattening of the RSI curve also occurs here.

The attached image shows the values obtained for the 14- and 2-period RSI. I am not really satisfied with this, for the reasons described above.
So the bottom line is: RAW values (all values that directly use the price) are not good, normalized values are needed. But what?
I can't devote any more time to this for the moment, but if anyone has a particularly good idea, maybe share it.

There will be some changes to the draft. Iterative: trade and reorganize.
Top priority for my next steps: reduce the amount of information.
- Keep candlesticks and other information from the chart visible = chart in foreground
- Make market breadth visible - Where is the bear A?
- Optimize the timeframe: how large can the value be for quick and successful trading. B
- CSM 1 and/or 2 = Top performers vs. strong/weak only C1 C2
- Avoid over-information by using multiple dashboards (RSI+MACD+...), but try it out
- Currently using the (RSI) dashboard twice D E
1. Broad overview = selection from market breadth
2. Reduced number of instruments and more tf
- Chart changer F
? Horizontal stretch? If uses prefix/suffix - yes?
Otherwise, writing instruments left-aligned is also sufficient.

Note on potentially redundant information:
I use RSI multiple times with different values.
- 2x dashboard + C1 C2
- Groupings in the upper area (for which I am very grateful to @cja RSI dashboard at Forexfactory) A

The individual boards are very much geared towards the needs of traders (sorting processes, speed in time and instrument)

It's encouraging that you're thinking beyond the 28-year mark for CSM.
There are precursors to Hanover and others here at FF.

The other two also measure based on ROC, regarding which I have already explained my position above (see gold/silver 6-7%).

I know that you are not a fan of requests, but this might be a simple feature, IDK coding, you tell me.

I'm not a fan of the "X" that removes all of your indicators; a better thing would be to collapse it temporarily to expose the chart completely.

A bit like the many requests in the Add an On / Off Button thread, I think this would be popular.

Indeed, I don't like requests. It's a bit more work than it might seem from a user's perspective.

In the meantime, some good ideas have come up for improving the dashboard. I have now created a new version of MA-DB that includes these innovations. I will upload it in the next post.
Since I haven't had time to test it thoroughly, could you please test it and let me know if everything is OK?
If everything works as it should, I will update the other dashboards soon.
