README — DODF Daily Open Behavior
What “Daily Open” means
- The reference price for each custom 24‑hour session, anchored at a chosen hour (DODF_Session_Start).
Default behavior
- Anchor at 00:00 broker server time when DODF_Session_Start = 0 (or invalid).
- Each session lasts exactly 24 hours from the anchor to the next day’s anchor.
Calculation method
- ComputeDODF sets sessionStart to DODF_Session_Start:00 (broker time).
- If current time is before sessionStart, it shifts the anchor to the previous day.
- Daily open = H1 candle open at sessionStart (iOpen(Symbol(), PERIOD_H1, shift)).
- Fallback: if H1 lookup fails, uses iOpen(Symbol(), PERIOD_D1, 0).
Using DODF_Session_Start (0–23) and validation
- Input is an hour in broker server time; validated in OnInit.
- If outside 0–23, it alerts and resets to 0.
Time zone implications
- All times use TimeCurrent() in broker server time (<broker_server_timezone>); no conversion is performed.
Aligning with market opens (broker time)
- Set DODF_Session_Start to the market’s hour in your broker’s server time.
- Code comments: London = 9, New York = 15.
Quick verification on chart
- Observe the horizontal daily open line at the anchor; it matches the H1 open at that hour and stays constant for the 24‑hour session.
- Changing DODF_Session_Start repositions the line to the new anchor on the next update.
