I post a Dow chart and a gold chart. Both behave differently of course, but IB on both show breaks but it is the dow that runs for a few nice pips and one can see price action around levels and vwap. But so much to study looking at both charts. THanks Kev for the sources to study.

This morning - UK time - vwap on Dax and gold plus "Roadmap. Interesting but will get about twenty charts more and watch interaction of vwap, IB and Roadmap.
Your videos etc alluded to above Kev were very,very interesting.

Hi Turnip

I would chart NQ & Gold Markets because I find they offer the best VWAP setups by far.
Any smaller time frame works using VWAP but most traders sit between the 1 & 5 Minute chart.
Myself I favor the 2 Minute Chart to get my attention where I move to my Execution Chart which is a 30 Second Chart paired with a 1 second heat- map chart.
The problem with going for the BIG TRADE is the Future Markets is these markets are full of WASH TRADES from Market Makers which create false candle patterns which suck retail traders on the wrong side of the market.

I don't like getting Fucked by Marker Makets so I employ tools to beat them - Scalping is part of the methodology to whip their backsides and beat them at their own game (may talk further on this subject) so please consider the Scalping strategies going forward.

Tonight I was trading Gold about 2 hours after London open and within those boxes were enough trades to make a days wage.
I took about 5 trades at "A" which was a bounce setup off IB High from New York open and 4 Trades at "B" as a Fade of VWAP.
Trading off IB Levels (yellow line) & VWAP centerline are very rewarding trading activity's, they were very clean setups on the 30 second chart.

New To Volume theory, currently overwhelmed with The whole concept will Try to slowly Digest but it was interesting to see how the levels were getting Respected

What I understood mainly is that IB or first 15 and 1hr Creates the levels for whole day until new NY session opens up apart from that Once price goes far away from the Range it tends to come back To retest ( somewhat similar to mean reversion strategies ? ) we use Extensions to look those levels

We can use VWAP for entries or like if vwap is near to our levels that makes the levels strong

Interesting, but would love to test on ranging market since gold is very trendy to Upside or we only work with this concept during trendy periods

Within the VWAP system, please ensure you also use the 1 hour Initial Balance setups as part of your complete strategy.
7 and 8 figure yearly traders from Axia Futures use the 1 hour IB - so perhaps that's a way forward for you.

Look at these trades I took last night on NQ - there is 3 good setups long from IB High.

EASY MONEY

PS. Always chart first on MNQ then trade on NQ if you like.

PS I didn't trade gold. But I can say I did, and draw a few boxes, and brag on "EZ MONEY" while patting myself on the back. I don't know, but these types of posts just rub me the wrong way. Post a chart showing executions. Post a blotter. Otherwise, it gives others a false sense of how easy trading should be and then they spend the weekend beating themselves up over why this guy can do it can do it and they can't, when there is no reason to believe this guy did anything of the sort.

It just rubs me the wrong way. It really does.

Hey,
What about days when the market breaks both to the upside and downside? How should we form a directional bias in such cases — or should we simply trade what the market presents, for example selling when sell signals appear and buying later if buy signals show up?

Hi Vidvad

I know how you feel.
It's annoying when traders post charts and say - "Here is three trades I took here in the little box" and then say I also made huge profits.
My point for posting in Blue's thread is foremost to support his views that trading off Volume signals by using a VWAP indicator, Volume profile & 1 hour Initial Balance indicators are a winning pathway to profitability.

I am just showing basic strategy setups here - and pointing out I did actually take some of them.
My point is there are multiple setups each day on many markets and these trade setups are just as simple as "Just trade the touch of a VWAP band" or "Fade the touch of IB" etc. etc.
But I need to point out that VWAP is a just a Roadmap and the real trading is done on your Execution Chart.

I can't actually show you my actual trade entry's because it wasn't recorded - but will be happy to show some future trading recording perhaps some if there is much interest here.
Can I say I believe most traders on Forex Factory are a touch too One dimensional for their own good with their trading strategy's.
Please read the final part of this post with an open mind as it describes a Gold trade I take on most days, my primary trade I look for always.


I TRADE WITH MY EYES SHUT WHEN I ENTER

Friday 1am in the Morning during a Gold Spike down to VWAP Band 1. Price Squawk set on Gold

I see price on Gold is starting to spike bearish, perhaps to the bottom VWAP band.
I shift my earphones slightly as the Bids are softy yelling into my left ear drum - sell sell SELL SELL SELL
At a certain level on big volume size trades, the noise vibrates my zygomatic bone on my cheek and its feel as a sharp brief vibration - I feel large trades.
The Sells grow lower in tone, and I receive a few more vibrations to my zygomatic bone informing me we may be getting close to exhaustion.

Then Silent
Like the Eye of a Cyclone, there is nothing, no noise for a few seconds which is expected.

Then I start hearing a few noises in my right ear drum - buy- BUY- BUY which are increasing in tone but less urgent.
BUYERS ARE COMING BUT NOT JUST YET - MY EYES ARE SHUT

Finger on the BUY MARKET key but I need to be patient.

Then it comes, the Buyers (Ask's) are firing away in my right ear drum and I am on board with a Market Buy.
BUY BUY (My zygomatic bones bing's again for the first time again)
BUY BUY BUY BUY

Now I forget about price charts and solely watch the price ladder (DOM)
I am expecting price to be hitting the Ask column with aggression and expect traders to be pulling their orders as price moves Bullish.
This trade looks good JOB DONE

Summary for a Long Trade -
I look for important price levels being hit using VWAP, Volume Profile and the 1 hour Initial Balance Indicators.
I then close my eyes
I listen to the Market and wait till the market moves from my left ear drum to the right with urgency.
I hit the Market Buy key.
I feel the Market on my face when large orders hit the tape in the right sequence.
I open my eyes and watch a DOM expecting one sided aggression with pulling of orders.

The best Price Reversal Setups are not seen but heard.
YOU WILL BECOME IMMERSED WITHIN THE MARKET - KIND OF SPIRITUAL REALLY


Now how in the HELL do I show my setups on a stupid one dimensional chart - Fucked if I know

Everyone should have a Trade Explorer linked. The truth is, trade entry or trade entry criteria does not matter.. Ryan420 Trade Explorer I could say how calculated these entries are.. truth is they're random.. direction is based on +swap rate so that I don't decay if holding longer. That's all. Trends are impossible to trade.. only in hindsight. I short EurUsd and long UsdChf successfully. What I know is that no one knows where the random walk is going, but the probabilities and odds will always play themselves out in an efficient market. Spot FX is so efficient & liquid bc it's just a hedge for the much bigger derivatives market (options, futures)

Meanwhile back to Timing levels and behaviour of price - the ethos of the thread owners thread title.
I have stuck 5 minute ORB's ( 2:30pm UK time) and "Mebob bars" (3:05pm UK time) on the Dax, sp500 and Nasdaq. Then mixed in a bit of vwap!
My own approach is via "Roadmap" which I have left on the chart. Ignoring "Roadmap" one can see
how useful the vwap lines could be but I am totally new to vwap and welcome discussion from vwap users.
I will never abandon "Roadmap" because it works for me but ORB's, IB's and now vwap might be useful to restrict my trading to events that are more favourable to a successful outcome ?
These are HINDSIGHT charts and I am not sure what I am doing.

Hi guys been away since Wednesday back today...and caught the flu to top my mini vacation off

Will catch up on the replies tomorrow .

In the meantime I highly recommend watching this Youtube short.
As this encompasses a big part of what this thread is about and its very similar
to how I trade...Setups and all.

Chris Drysdale does a much better job of explaining....

So heres the 60sec vid as well as a couple of graphics
and Im also attaching Chris's Core Setup guide PDF.

I use these exact same setups every day..
