i have here 6 conditions required for a trade confirmation entry.
of course this is not full proof.
win rate generally is 70% depending on how good you are in chart reading and your trading experience.
any one condition missing will further degrade the success of the trade.
you have to trade with a unit position size that would not make you fearful or greedy.

My take on GOLD;
LO looks for a break of 3374.71 to confirm an H4 external CHoch. If this proceeds as planned. NY session will take out the low at LO to test the SNR zone marked in turquoise.

today 15 min before tokyo open, i planned what i was going to do.
draw out the htf ohlc and engulf. which direction to trade.
i had a good night sleep and my mind was clear.
i did not detract from my plan and ignored the counter trend.
no entry confirmation during tokyo and asia open started.
it was quite a wait until 1h 50 m later that entry confirmation was forming.
it was not A grade, not even B grade.
took a buy with full intention to exit when candles closing below the head.
the potential loss was within what i had expected.
as the trade progressed, the price did not even close outside of the right shoulder engulf.
put in few more buys as price bounced up from there.
TP progressively as price was not able to penetrate the bearish engulf.

do i need to look for 150 pips? i don't even get 50 pips, just 40.

IMO, the correction is not over yet. Price might visit 3350 area.
