After years of reading, coding, searching and testing, trial and error, fundamentals and technicals. In late 2021, I finally accepted the fact that it does not matter how complicated the calculation is used to create an indicator, as long as it uses data from OHLC, it is the same boring, lagging, reactive indicator.
I am not saying it is impossible to make profit with such systems. I am only saying it does not give me the edge I am looking for. I am not looking for an indicator that tells me the price has gone up when I can see it on the chart. I am looking for information that tells me why the price could have gone up/down. it does not have to be 100% accurate, but it needs to provide a valid and logical bias.
After another 2 years of research, many many dozen of books(I do not think I have read 100+). I think I have got the answer, it is so simple that I am pretty sure most people are well aware of it. Yet, it is difficult especially in forex market that I could only recall hearing people telling me that it is a dead end.
Interesting story, when I pitched my idea to a trader at a conference, he assured me there is no way I could obtain this type of info by showing me his real account, a $10 million annual profit account! Pretty amazing...but if a successful trader like him does not even think this type of information exists, can I really find what I am looking for...
Fast forward 2 years to now, we are proud to launch our research and analytical platform. We specialize in processing and transforming massive order flow data into actionable insight for retail forex and crypto investors.
Our partnered institution grants us license to share analytical insight using their order flow data with our own clients. With this information, traders will be able to take a peek at institutional trading activities in real time. We aggregate, analyze, and visualize the data to approximate overall money flow in and out of any underlying market, which create HUGE edge for both discretionary and systemic traders, as these actions usually happen prior to major news or price movements. Thus, traders will be able to spend less effort speculating on price actions or any patterns(those are the result of past not the reason for future) while focusing more on the development of price movement as the result of real institutional money flow.
Additionally, with real order information, traders will be more aware of any potential price traps, less subjected to FOMO emotions, and hence make less risky irrational trading decisions on the spot.
With access to transactional data, we are able to push the insight a step further by analyzing every single transaction to approximate the impact of $$$ flow in and out of the underlying asset at any given time and price level.
Knowing where money goes is the key.
Currently, I am confident to announce that there is no service provider I am aware of on the market offering similar analytical capability to retail investors.
We also offer other powerful analytical tools that are designed to help retail traders backtest and develop disciplined trading habits. Our trading report not only creates a summary for individual trades(the traditional way), but also provides a position management chart that currently no trading software is offering. With this tool, traders can review the entire life cycle of every position they managed from their own trading report as well as evaluate and identify hidden risk from any signal provider with a 'perfect' equity curve.
In this thread, I will regularly share the development of institutional fund flow and how it could provide additional insight independent to price patterns or indicators derived from OHLC data.
Give it a try at www.OnepieceTradeTech.com and enjoy 2-week free trial. We will be constantly adding new functionalities to the platform.
