Seems to me that JPY is very resilient. BOJ has mentioned they are intervening and this will make it difficult for GJ to return to 200. I'm overall bullish like you, but I'm more careful about entries.

ye that s true, i m relying on a more than expected inflation friday, it could be the event-drive for a close of this multiday plan, keep banking on partial targets and overall the positive final result is granted and that s what matter.

I have been bullish on GBPJPY and across all yen pairs since last week but we have not made any meaningful up move.
If NY traders don't push the yen pairs, then I may reconsider my bullish stance on yen pairs. Asian session has been red for yen pairs with BOJ intervening.
I expect a close above 193.80 for GBPJPY today, let's see.

Even with a good CPI, GBPJPY remains in the red. I think I will wait for a confirmation that JPY is softening before going long. Buy entries below 193 should be safe though. Thoughts?

The ATR has dropped off big time. Looks bullish still but having a break at the moment on the daily.

Is ATR over 10 days, 20 days, 100 days?

What percentage drop off do you see as "big time"?

Yep, so 14 period standard ATR setting on the 4 hour has dropped off as per the attached. I had entered a position long as all the signs for ichimoku were saying bullish. However, I double checked the ATR as an entry filter and noticed the ATR had reduced significantly which made me then think again about entering. Due to FOMO I entered anyway and it hasn't moved much, if anything it has gone sideways. I was on the move earlier so could have explained that better

OMG, 4-hours? But that would be a good thing, it might be ready to make the big move to boost the ATR back where it belongs. Other than that, 4H is going to change daily from session to session.

You can see here (1), I watch the ADR on both 10 days and 20 days for recent variations, nothing.

But at (2) yes, you are right, today slowed down for sure.
