When we see a thread continuing such as yours has
been, we see commitment. It has been obvious that
most who start "journals/their systems" do not have
the stamina to continue. Thus we have no way of
knowing what the outcome would be had the person
continued to improve on their strategy.

Thankfully you chose to stay with your commitment.

This is beneficial for all of us.

OK, been out all day watching the England cricket match so just returned to see my AUDCAD trade stopped out for plus 15 pips.

Aug total: +260 pips

I intend to keep it going as long as there is some interest here. It's actually beneficial for me as well in that it keeps me disciplined and also I have a history of my trades.

I have no trades on at present and taking a quick look at the daily charts I see we have had big reversals on many pairs today. Hope some managed to make some good pips today

That, coupled with the fact that Fridays are often a bit crazy anyway means that I think I'm now out for the week and see where we are towards close tomorrow.

I've had a good start to the month and I'd rather stay out of the market until I see the next opportunity.

Hehe,

Feel like a bit of a scalper as I've closed 5 of the 6 positions within a few hours of opening them. Really just trading the 'Sunday Gap'

CHFJPY long from 98.64 closed at 98.77 for plus 13 pips
GBPJPY long from 238.97 closed at 239.63 for plus 66 pips
EURJPY long from 161.84 closed at 162.16 for plus 32 pips
USDJPY long from 118.14 closed at 118.46 for plus 32 pips
GBPUSD long from 2.0212 closed at 2.0228 for plus 16 pips

So, thats a cool 159 pips (just over 1.5% of acc bal) in a couple of hours

Aug total pips: plus 419

Hehe,

EURUSD also closed for 1 pip

So that was a nice 160 pips - time to sleep and see what oppportunities await in the morning.

I don't use Oanda but I have opened trades on a Sunday open before.

All the pairs I traded had either hammer or doji candlesticks on Friday and that, coupled with a nice opening gap lower on the JPY pairs prompted me to open the trades. Now the gap has filled, prices have moved back to around the level I opened them.

Spreads are at the normal level for my broker (EU 2, UJ 3, GU 4) on Sunday open.

You are having an incredible August!!!!!
I can see why you went long...but what made you close your trades? Are you looking now at diferent time frames, or do you stick to the dailies?

To be honest I would normally have held onto the trades but with the uncertainty in the markets at the moment, I was happy with what I had. I do still trade off the dailies on the majority of my trades.

GBPJPY has been all over the place so far today so in hindsight it was probably the right decision. I'm off work this week so interesting to see this intraday action. Even caught myself looking at the 5 min charts hahahaha.

OK, just taken a new position on GBPJPY off the 5 min charts - let's see if we can scalp a few pips :

GBPJPY long from 237.73 (s/l 237.48)

25 pip risk, may be a quickie lol
