Another thought fatolepig - I recently had some vague issue with mt4 and ended up deleting and copying in a new instance of terminal.exe - maybe worth a try if you still have problems.

Gene - that install type is so true. I go one further step and make all installs /portable. Seldom have any issues and it largely avoids indis being buried in the Users\Roaming abyss. It can however cause issues if downloading from mql5 website but that seems to be a variable for some reason.

I'm using Gene's checklist, I've tried replacing terminal.exe, I've downloaded various vendor's MT4 installation files, and I've tried loading history, but I get the same error each time. I've even tried deleting all but the 1st pair when loading the Manager, and still get the error. I've checked several times the pairs in the Manager are in my Market Watch list and are spelled correctly. MT4 is frustrating during these times, that's for sure.

I reran loadhistory, and now everything works!

Glad you got it sorted out. I noticed you read a post by Erebus in the Platform Tech thread. What is interesting - did you notice Erebus made that post over three years ago ? :-)

Amusingly, Erebus and I both live in Brisbane Australia - so us Aussies are trying to help. Lol.

Is that with Marty?
If yes, I'd argue your marty results with strat4 are similar. With both strategies the profit and DD are roughly the same (e.g. strat5 profit = 6389 and DD = 6598 and strat4 profit = 4831 and DD = 4685), so for a fair comparison you'd have to reduce strat5 DD down to start4's, which I think would result in a similar profit.

What's the difference between the trade durations? If one strategy is shorter that is probably 'safer' for the same profit.

STRAT 4 + MARTY - Same settings as Strat 5 which yes, Marty True. (Shutdown this weekend as Windows Update week just gone.)

Hi P,
Memory said there was a small issue with Strat 4. I missed running it for a week - can't remember why but likely caused by my shifting the mt4 instances between machines. It will even out over time. See pic.

Hi Guys I need some help

I have had to delete all of my MT4 instances, they kept freezing, so have reinstalled a fresh MT4 and have put it into a folder not in the program folders

Everything works on the MT4 except I cant load V10 manager all I get is this

I have tried everything, the actual manager doesnt load as a EA, when I right click on the screen it isnt there.

Hi Steve - First thing I would check is Windows itself. From the command prompt, try running sfc /scannow

to check if there is any OS issue. If no problem you could try MT4 running as portable as I do. I have 5 instances running on the one machine.
Just in case you are not familiar with doing that, Here is my Properties box and the command. Note the space before the /portable

That is in lower case

I'm sure you know you need all data for the charts but I wouldn't think that would stop the Manager at this point. If not already, run the Load All script.

Yes, that is how I do it - keep right away from Programs. Don't run MT4 after the install but rather go into the MT4 folder and create a shortcut on the desktop and put that /portable with a space after the last inverted comma's and run it from that shortcut. You can name the shortcut anything you like on the screen but use the terminology as I have it inside the Properties - obviously with your own broker details. This also enables you to access the MT4 folders directly rather than through the >Files>Open Data Folder. Files will not be buried in Users\AppData\Roaming etc

Run the sfc as admin first though to be sure you don't have a windoze problem

Additionally, when you run as /portable you can, if desired, copy the entire install onto a USB thumbdrive and install it onto another machine - you likely do have to input the account number a pwd manually if you move it around - you could even run it from the usb but that could be a bit slow.

With the initial install you will have to interject and instruct the install to go in the Folder you specify of course.

So of I want 4 Mt4s. have to number them 1,2,3,4 for example, Ive always notice my mt4 is split in two, programs folder and user, name, appdata, terminal, if this makes sense.

Hi Traders

I am presently working on Strategy 7 which will use a Currency Strength filter that is generated by The Manager and then used by Strategy 7. It will use the default 28 pairs to generate this CS signal. I have been doing some final tweaks this week so hopefully I can get a full week of testing in on it next week without any changes. So far it looks to be doing OK as can be seen in the screen shot. I want to get a full week of testing in on it before I send it out. Forward testing takes time and I don't want to release anything until it is to the point where I would use it myself on a live account. I have also added a manual mode to this next version as was previously available in a previous version. You will be able to switch to manual mode on the fly to add a TP or JSL to a open trade or set up a manual/auto entry of your own choosing. Before I send it out I will put together some videos explaining all of this. The present strategies will stay the same as I don't want to make any changes to them as some traders are happy with them and are using them.
