You come across as a nice and intelligent guy, but I dont understand what is the purpose of this thread?

All you preach is to follow some "system", (which you then weeks later announce you do not even follow yourself) - and then you think the holy grail is to take 20 trades and see what happens? Anyone with programming skills, GPT skills or 100 USD can get a strategy/EA coded - and after test what you find so important in less than a minute. Why waste weeks/months? - In fact I did this in the early days of this thread and the proposed initial strategy settings does not make a profit.

Noisy came across with his valid issues/concerns, and now you are making him look like a fool? Why is that? Its not fair in any way, the guy is just airing his thoughts and challenges.

I agree discipline, system, no emotions, Mark D stuff etc bla bla is key to trading successfully, and thats why main Wall Street and professional traders has turned to automation years ago, to exactly do what you preach, to do the same over and over again, but bypassing the human element, which is the main problem for a succesfull trading outcome.

Pip, i agree that he asked the right questions...the problem is, no one here can give him the answers he is looking for. Those answers just do not exist. Trading is a lonely business and 95% of people fail at it, therefore most of the people here will eventually fail or give up. He has been at it for 15 years, it is about time for Noisy to realize there are no answers to his questions. It takes totally different frame of mind to be a winner at this game. Some here come close to it but have a long way to go. Therefore, there is no answers to the same questions he was posting.

Mebob is a form of a fixed bar method. I 100% trade fixed bar only and have done almost 100% fixed bar since November 2024 (with some slips back toward
squiggly-lined purgatory along the way).

The purpose of this thread is to turn those 1-2 out of every 500 to 100 traders at FF who can be turned around by focusing their attention on process over outcome.

Noisy is free, as we all are, to start a personal journal at FF. Anyone who wants to automate or do computerized back testing of Mebob or any other fixed bar method may do so and can share his or her results in a thread of their own.

All I will say is that I do get PM's weekly from traders telling me that following the recommendations we make in this thread that they have experienced their first profitable month or passed their first prop evaluation or increased their profitability and consistency many-fold.

This thread isn't for everyone. Blue would say it is for very, very few. There is, I'd suggest, an intangible quality to what we are doing here such that "if you have to ask, you're not ready to know."

As for Noisy's case in particular, he is looking for answers that are personal and I have no interest in hearing anymore about his 15 years of trading problems. I get notifications every time someone posts to this thread and it was just too much finally. I mean, here we are, almost 8 hours after I ignored him, and I am still being asked to talk about him.

And I did not make Noisy appear to be a fool. If he appears to be a fool to you then accept that he did that all on his own.

Fixed bar 5min at the start of every 30min bar on the ES... Price MUST breakout. The average range of a 30min bar cannot fit into the average range of a 5min bar.... things are slotting together in my head.
I see what Vid means now, I don't think it matters which bar you choose, only that its the same each day.
ps. I'm trading these breakouts as the price hits the line not waiting for a close above or below as to me that is giving away ticks.

to Linda's talk.... Highly relevant to MeBob.... Sharing a video from her talk thats geared to "us"

She will talk about using the 8am NYT "Open" not a typical open but its when the U.S. institutions
typically are at their desks and things start happening... She has a play where she uses the
first 20 mins..(5 min bars) from 8am then plays the BO....

A fixed time method...with a fixed timeout as well... Interesting and always something to learn from
Linda....Lots of nuggets dropped from her today..

Perhaps you might learn something,,,if you can fog a mirror that is...

Compare those posts to the posts of those I've banned from the thread. Then ask me why I prefer not to participate in the melodrama on which so many FF'ers seem to thrive.

Did your earlier post refer to the close of a one minute bar every 30 minutes ?
Are you now testing the 5 minute and one minute?

It is a good stuff Blue, I encourage all "want to be" successful traders to listen to this video. I experienced this statement below from Linda Raschke and these are correct statistics. I know of only 1 person on FF, out of hundreds of traders that I interacted over the last 10 years on FF and other forums who is making real money. Rest got lost and gone.

It means out of 100 people who are reading this, only 3 people will ever make money, 97% will loose money. She also speaks about 4 years of hard work and learning and prepping to even start on the path of making money and be consistent with it. Only 3 people out of 100 will do that.
