The euro has slipped below 1.1700 due to escalating US trade tensions, with the US President signaling higher tariffs for the EU, potentially disrupting trade deal efforts by August 1st. Technical todays high is holding a visit higher at 1.1749 resistance. The trend is consolidating below 1.1700 with a downside bias and is expected to visit lower levels like 1.1662 and 1.1641/31 significant zone.

My week is coming near an end, tomorrow is weekend again, time for some fun and games with family!

Watching daily close

update: bear didnt manage to close the day and week low. Daily close for the last two day indicate strong support from 1660 level after breaking 1682.

but usdx did closed above 97.80 which is significant.

next week bull may try to pump and if they are unable to set new highs i guess bear will step in

The EUR/USD closed down this week after making a higher high at 1.1829, above the previous 1.1753 resistance. However, it failed to close above this level and is now trading below both 1.1753 and 1.1700, having printed a new low at 1.1662. I expect this correction to extend, but not significantly. The 1.1641/31 area might halt this drop, so caution is advised for sellers. In the event of a sharper decline, 1.1600 could be reached. Conversely, bulls need a close above 1.1753 to push higher towards the 1.1800/29 high area.

I was waiting for less. Back at April things where different. 20% was postponed until July 9th. With 30% until August 1st the move down may-be bigger or stay down in a correction for longer!

Trump said will not fire Powell, tarrifs helped the US deficit and dollar seems stronger. EURUSD should rise after Trump is proved TACO again. Need to watch US CPI which is expected higher also.

Anything else I may-be missing should show me the way.

So I'm wondering, with these newly announced tariffs to the EU, is it Trumps goal to strengthen the Dollar again? I'm thinking about this because he replied very snappish when a reporter aksed him about the Dollars status as a reserve currency this past week. Maybe his plan now is to provide their local currency with an updraft? Any thoughts are appreciated!

yea all eyes on cpi i guess, i guess once the direction is more clear it can run pretty fast
