No need for apologies at all — honestly, this kind of transparency is super valuable. And I’m not sure I’d call myself wise, haha, but I’ve just seen enough setups and tried enough tweaks to know how easy it is to get excited by short-term results.

That’s exactly why I suggested waiting for a larger sample size. What looks promising over a few trades can easily flip the next day — like we saw today. But who knows, tomorrow those same filters might start working again. That’s why it’s important we just keep tracking everything objectively and let the data speak, not our gut feelings.

Appreciate you taking the time to recap things tonight — that kind of detailed tracking is what will actually lead to meaningful conclusions.

Hi mate,

To remove the additional arrows, you just need to uncheck the "Bull Confirm" and "Bear Confirm" options in the indicator.

Additionally, for a higher frequency of signals, you can also change the "Upper Limit" and "Lower Limit" parameters to 80 and 20, as recommended in the strategy.

Thank you! I'm still going through this thread and probably it's there so sorry to make you put that information again.

This is how my testing will run, maybe it's little off topic and if yes I can stay quite. So based on nova we follow the trend. If we have green background and green volume bars we go up, if versa we go down. Surely market structure and PA is there too. Here are two enteries 1st was great, second still running but when you hit 1.5R put on break even. Usually aim 1:2R, not counting pips, position will be based on R

Setup still valid on EUR/CHF m15.

Has anyone had experience with TTS Squeeze confirmations when the histogram is extremely compressed or barely visible?

I’ve seen a few setups like that and I’m not sure how reliable they are.

Looking at back data, can be a great filter to avoid bad trades. 4R + last one would be break even as it almost hit TP (hate those lol)
On second trade we can go with another entry there, still would be a win

Hi everyone, as promised, here’s the full breakdown of all the trades I’ve tracked this week across 26 major and minor FX pairs (excluding EUR/GBP and AUD/NZD).

First of all, a few clarifications:

These results are exclusively from the London session (9am–5pm CET), on the M15 timeframe. I’ve only counted trades that were fully formed and confirmed within the session. Also, only “theoretically ideal setups” were considered, to keep things as objective as possible.

All results are based on a fixed 1:2 RR (no break-evens or partial closes).

Baseline strategy (no filters applied):

  1. Total trades: 56
  2. Winners: 22
  3. Losers: 34
  4. Win rate: 22 / 56 ≈ 39.3%
  5. Estimated net return: +10R

With Filter #1 applied:

  1. Total trades: 38 out of 56
  2. Winners: 17
  3. Losers: 21
  4. Win rate: 17 / 38 ≈ 44.7%
  5. Estimated net return: +13R

With Filter #2 applied:

  1. Total trades: 36 out of 56
  2. Winners: 17
  3. Losers: 19
  4. Win rate: 17 / 36 ≈ 47.2%
  5. Estimated net return: +15R

With both filters combined:

  1. Total trades: 29 out of 56
  2. Winners: 16
  3. Losers: 13
  4. Win rate: 16 / 29 ≈ 55.2%
  5. Estimated net return: +19R

While this is still a small sample size, and win rate alone doesn’t tell the full story, the combination of both filters has shown the highest net return throughout this week.

I’ll continue tracking and logging all setups under the three scenarios (no filters, filter #1, filter #2, both filters) over the coming days and weeks to build a more solid dataset.

Definitely looking forward to it! As I mentioned earlier, if you’re okay with sharing those filters, please feel free to post them here — that way, everyone can start tracking them and we’ll expand the sample set much faster. Right now, just showing the results alone feels a bit incomplete, almost like we’re making people wait. That said, please let’s not post anything related to the filters until you’re ready with everything…

Hello everyone,

My intention was never to create unnecessary hype — I simply chose not to share the filter details earlier because I felt they might generate more confusion than value without a solid foundation of results. That said, I’m now happy to share the two additional conditions I’ve been experimenting with to filter ideal setups.

Important disclaimer:

These filters have not been tested over a large enough sample size yet. Results may vary from the original strategy, and anyone who decides to apply them should proceed with caution. I’ve only applied them to ideal setups on the M15 timeframe, so I can’t say how they perform in other market conditions or timeframes.

Filter 1: Candle Confirmation

What does it do?

This filter requires momentum confirmation. Instead of entering just because a signal has been generated, you wait for the next candle to close beyond the extreme of the signal candle, which can be interpreted as:

  1. A real continuation of the move.
  2. Validation of strength and momentum — not just a short-lived reaction or a false breakout.

What does it add?

  1. Avoids false breakouts.
  2. Reduces premature entries.
  3. Adds a simple yet effective layer of confirmation.

Drawbacks?
In low-volume or consolidating environments, it may leave you out of otherwise good entries.

For long setups (buys):

After identifying a valid setup, the next candle must close above the high of the signal candle.
If it closes at or below the signal candle’s high, the trade is invalidated.

Filter 2: Ichimoku Trend Filter (Daily timeframe)

This one involves checking the Ichimoku cloud (Kumo) on the D1 chart.

If the market is in an uptrend, only long setups are allowed.

If the market is in a downtrend, only short setups are allowed.

What does it do?

This filter only allows trades in the direction of the main trend based on the daily chart and the Ichimoku Kumo (cloud).

What does it add?

  1. Aligns you with the higher time frame trend, which increases the probability of success.
  2. Reduces countertrend entries (which are riskier in intraday trading).
  3. Reinforces confidence in strong, coherent setups.

Drawbacks?

  1. You may miss some good countertrend trades.

How do I define the trend?

A clean order block above the cloud, with no candle (not even the wicks) touching the cloud, defines an uptrend. The trend remains in place until a clean order block appears in the opposite direction.

Summary:

For long trades:

1. Identify a valid M15 setup.

2. The next candle must close above the high of the signal candle.

3. D1 trend must be bullish according to the Ichimoku condition above.

For short trades:

1. Identify a valid M15 setup.

2. The next candle must close below the low of the signal candle.

3. D1 trend must be bearish according to the Ichimoku condition above.

You can use both filters together or individually. They do not depend on each other and don’t alter the original execution of the system — they’re just optional tools to help filter trades, especially if you prefer quality over frequency. The difference in results of this week when using each filter (none, individually and combined) is detailed in my previous post.

Again, no promises — I just hope this is helpful to anyone interested in experimenting further.

With that said, I’ll leave the filter topic here for now.

Filter 1 (Candle Confirmation) is definitely something I relate to. I use it often myself. That said, it does come with a level of subjectivity. Price action, by nature, can be interpreted differently depending on the trader’s experience, context, and even bias. What looks like confirmation to one person might not be convincing to another. So while it's effective, especially in cleaner environments, it's not 100% objective, and that can sometimes create inconsistency across users.

Filter 2 (Ichimoku Trend on D1), on the other hand, is much more rule-based and objective, which I think is a huge plus. Regardless of who's applying it, the directional filter will be the same for everyone. Aligning trades with the higher timeframe trend — especially one as visually clear as the Ichimoku cloud — often leads to better conviction and fewer forced countertrend trades. That kind of clarity can help reduce hesitation and overtrading, especially in volatile or noisy sessions.

It would be great to see how people in the community incorporate these and whether they see improvements in their sample sets. Looking forward to seeing the data build!

Just wanted to clarify one small point regarding Filter 1. I completely understand how “candle confirmations” can often be seen as subjective in price action trading — and that’s definitely true in many cases. However, in this case I’ve tried to define it in a strictly mechanical and objective way:

  1. For long setups: the candle immediately after the signal must close above the signal candle’s high.
  2. For shorts: it must close below the signal candle’s low.

If it doesn’t, the trade is invalidated — no exceptions or interpretation involved. I understand that in real-time it may still require quick precision and execution, but the rule itself is very black-and-white.

For example, there’s a setup that just triggered on GBPJPY (M15). The strategy signaled a valid long, and the very next candle closed above the signal candle’s high — making it a valid entry under Filter 1. It’s a clear, objective confirmation that can be verified instantly on the chart, without room for interpretation.

Additionally, after checking with Filter 2, GBPJPY is currently in a clear bullish trend on the D1 Ichimoku cloud, which further supports the direction. Right now, I’m simply waiting for the second green bar on the histogram — as long as it appears within a maximum of four candles after the signal — to trigger the final confirmation before executing the trade. If no histogram confirmation appears within those four candles (fourth included), and as the strategy recommends, I personally invalidate the trade.

In this case, as the confirmation of the histogram has been valid, the only thing left to do is to execute the trade.

I also recommend checking the close price of the candle carefully for Filter 1 — when it’s that close, your eyes can often be misleading.

2. -1R. These are the kind of trades that would be good to eliminate, even though it looks like upward momentum is fading after taking our daily highs, XAUUSD has been in a strong uptrend all week, so avoiding shorts might have been wise.
3. +0R. Such a frustrating way to end the week. Second vertical line is where I moved my stop to breakeven as price struggled to break through a level. And the following bullish candle's wick took out my stop before price shot up. Could've been a +2R, but at least the trade idea was good.

Overall: +1R.

I’d say this — if you’re not a big fan of divergences, you can remove the MACD from your chart to keep things simpler. If you’re already waiting for two TTM bars, chances are the MACD has already confirmed the rule anyway.

I wanted to ask: based on your experience, what do you think is the optimal number of FX pairs to track with this strategy?

I’m trying to find a good balance between:

Maximizing potential opportunities
Avoiding overexposure and correlated risk

I know some traders scan all 28 major and minor pairs, but I'm curious if anyone has found a more efficient sweet spot — maybe focusing on 8 to 12 carefully chosen pairs, for example.

Any thoughts or recommendations on how many pairs to monitor without compromising account safety would be greatly appreciated.

In my experience, focusing on 3 to 5 non-correlated instruments tends to strike the right balance between opportunity and control. While it’s tempting to scan 20+ pairs to catch more setups, the reality is that wins and losses in trading are randomly distributed, even with a solid edge. This randomness means you can encounter clusters of losses, not because the system is broken, but simply due to natural variance. If you’re trading too many pairs, a single stretch of bad luck can turn into a wider drawdown across your whole account. By narrowing your focus to a small group of instruments, you limit that risk and make it easier to manage streaks, both good and bad. It also improves clarity and discipline, since you're not constantly reacting to signals across dozens of charts. In short, fewer pairs help you stay in control when randomness inevitably shows up.
