I don't know when or even if the set ups will then trigger an entry. However, I know exactly when and where to place my entry orders. I have my account pen o my phone. If the long trade is triggered I cancel the short entry order and vice versa. Then I don't look at the chart again until I'm finished work and in the comfort of my home office.

The only thing that bothers me these days is the number of people who come to this thread and tell us that what we're doing can't be done.

Does this happen at all the other FF threads as well? Or is it that we are in some small, almost comical way a threat to the self-delusion that has allowed would-be market wizards for generations to deflect the blame and responsibility for their failures away from themselves and toward the market, the market makers, the flash boys and HFT firms etc?

I literally have three alarms set on my iPhone that sound off when I an 15 minutes away from a set up. I typically don't need 15 minutes, but just in case I'm immersed in some non-trading activity it gives me time to get to my computer, open up Ninjatrader etc. and so on.

Yes Sir ! There is literally umpteen ways till Sunday to manage a trade and risk. People get so caught up on the entry... When all they need is a methodical repeatable way to enter the market...so they can then move on to the next step of how do I exit....

Because the exit is what either pays us or gives us a business expense !

And the the most important part of that next step after "executing" entry is the execution of ones trade mgmt.

One can have the absolute best timed entry but if you can't execute rule based trade mgmt with edge...entry means zilch..IMO.. because the trader is their own worst enemy and will screw it up without a clearly defined plan.

Just my opinion after years of screwing it up ...

Sidetrack....maaaan... It's why I use an EMA Channel as part of my trade mgmt... For years I would have countless trades well into the green .. big % gain yada yada yada...ya who cares Blue !

And I would give it all back... Psych reasons aside... I had to devise a way to manage myself in the trade...rules.. if this then that... So I use a combination of very precise if this then that rules... Otherwise I will fudge it up. Stick my finger in the cake and want more...that's just me and how I tick...

And really the biggest part of this game/business is learning how to manage oneself... Although I do use some discretion...it's moreso along the lines of ok.. am I exiting at a channel close...a daily level.. or an IB extension and price generally tells me which is best....But I must choose one and I have disciplined myself thru years of getting my teeth knocked out over and over and over again,,,,, to always execute one...

But yep they say a 5min ORB can't possibly work...or MeBob or the 2pm 5min BO.. it's really a small part of the success equation.... And that is what they miss...everyone looking for the perfect entry blah blah Blahbitty blah

Maaaan I'm done rambling VidVad but truth is I have a whole pile of ramble bottled up in me....feeling much better of late so as they say... Don't know where the heck I went with this post... But I really don't care lol. It's only my aim to help and if I hinder any of the readers... You got what you paid for.

My morning session litterally lasted seconds, JPN moved too fast and spread is a whopping 7pips so I did not take it. And my stats for gold are not too bad 84% winners there so I might drop JPN maybe.

If you are trading in FTMO or other prop firm, your risk should not exceed 1%, and better 0.5% or less. So you should not worry about this FTMO limitation. DAX MeBob today. Unfortunately, I missed it, but I count it as a win for my forward test of the current trading plan. As vidvad already said, you shouldn't pay attention to FOMO, but I still wonder if a rigid 1:1 risk/ratio makes sense (or even a negative of 1:0.618) if you can't take advantage of such fantastic trending days (albeit rare). So far, that would have been a 1:9 ratio if you had somehow abandoned the trade instead banking profits at +1R. In other words, you would have covered 8 losing days at a 1R loss and still made +1R. The question is, since you can't know when these rare trending days will occur, what do you do to create a predefined trading plan that might make the most of these trending days? Simply continue using a 1R stop loss and let it run every day/trade, and perhaps work with a time-based take profit or a trailing stop that leaves enough room to take advantage of such profits?

You can't have your cake and eat it. For starters, RR 1:1 is enough.

15 years of trying to trade, Noisy and this is with all due respect for you trying to stick with it, I think it is time to hang it up. Stop that stress on your mind and body and you will live a happier life.

I had to give up on some dreams in sports for myself, it does not feel good, but I did it and came to decision that is was a correct call for me, my health and my family.

Dude ..I've been hanging around FF since 2011 and never had a profitable month. Until the last 3 months. Currently up 11%. For what it's worth.

Perhaps, it is true. Al Brooks got a PhD, and then started making money in the market. Many famous traders started making money consistently after about 10-15 years. You are close to this now. Your experience matters. But now you need to calm your brain, this is the main thing. Vidvad gave you the right advice: find another source of income, and consider trading as a hobby. And calmly, gradually start making money in the market.
I know the disadvantages of prop firms. Props are just a stage at which you will accumulate your own capital. You can earn 50-60k in prop firms, it is real. I believe in you. It is never too late to start from scratch. Vidvad offered a working strategy. Just pay attention to M15 and M60. This is where I finish, who am I to give advice to others.

You are the problem. You are the solution.

I doubt you'd take anyone's suggestions but your own at this point, but your posts indicate a high level of desperation. You could benefit from this thread as has Batavia, Belgrath, giga, myself, turnip, Blue, and others. But not in your current state of mind. If I were you, I'd turn off my charts, log out of FF and FTMO and forget all about trading until August 1, and then come back, hopefully with a mind that is calmer and possibly a bit more open to the changes you need to make to yourself.

You are still looking for the magic method, "just show me what to trade and I'll trade it." And yet, day after day you post to this thread that what we are doing here doesn't work.

At the very least, please be more judicious in what you post to this thread as much of what you are writing here belongs in a personal FF journal thread and not in the Pricebob thread. I'm not going to allow you to continue to use us as your emotional and mental dumping ground. Journaling can be very useful. I have one here myself. You should start one too. Respectfully, this is not the place for what you have been going on about.
