Here is my take on how to trade this strategy with MT4 - using my indicators.

Indicators:

  1. RevXindicator
  2. RSI
  3. StochRSI
  4. MACD
  5. BollingerMomentum
  6. SqueezeBKK

RevXindicator contains the RSI, StochRSI, SqueezeBKK and MACD in the code, so these needs not to be on your chart. Though In the beginning show them until you learn how to trade.

Then the screen (when we are satisfied with the RevXindicator is handling some indicators for us) should contain:

  1. RevXindicator
  2. BollingerMomentum

Trading signals will appear as arrows and alerts. You then have to check if you agree with the signals. See post #1 for further suggestions to confluences.

I suggest that the BollingerMomentum should show light red or light green colours right before the entry signal - this showing that momentum was fading. Then at entry signal or short thereafter, the BollingerMomentum shall show darkred or even darkgreen.

I will try making some trades using this setup.

Note that I am working on the MACD function in the indicator right now. I am not satisfied. So a new version will be released when I have it.

MetaTrader 4 - so many advantages.

OK, need to work on this. But here we have a trade short arrow.

But MACD is still rising. There is no trade.
BollingerMomentum is lightred. There is no trade.

But after 4 bars the BollingerMomentum show Darkred - Momentum is rising.
Next bar the MACD bar is falling. Everything is now lined up.

This is not very clear rules. Just a first glance.

Note I work on M1 in order to get some trades to look at.

interesting, i do not get the three green signals on tradingview using the reversionX indicator, only the red one. and this is not the first time. what could be the reason.
i have the default settings ... . Btw. is it possible to make the indicator open source?

2. Skipped trade as price was at the basis on confirmation
3. +0R. Breakeven trade, couldve been held to +2R
4. -1R
5. -1R

Truly being beaten up this week :/

Time to analyse these in-depth and compare to last weeks trades, see if there's anything I could've done differently

Hey — the settings I use are listed below. Just make sure you’re on the same timeframe as the setup that was shared.
As for making the indicator open source, I ran into some issues during the publishing process. It got flagged twice for rule violations. That said, I’m working with a developer on a more automated version with a few improvements.

in the defaults there was 90/10 for Stoch RSI, with 80/20 i'll get the same, thanks! Great to hear that the indicator is developed further!

Firstly, I’d actually say it’s a good thing to have a rough week after a couple of solid ones — it keeps expectations in check and helps avoid falling into the beginner’s luck trap, which can be more damaging long term. That said, this set of trades could’ve looked very different — if trades 2 and 3 played out differently, you might’ve ended up with something like +4R/-3R and a +1R total. But that’s beside the point. What really matters is that you logged everything properly. Now’s a great time to review all the trades and start spotting any recurring patterns or common factors — that’s where the real growth kicks in.

Took two trades today, one on Gold and one on CADJPY. Both breakeven.
