I'm slowly getting used to EAs, though. I opened a free VPS with AWS. I'm currently testing a free EA (Dark Moon | https://darkeas.com/free-eas), and so far, that damn thing has only made profits, with the default settings in M1 in MT4. But when I look at the DD, I feel sick. But so far, the EA has always managed to get out of the DD. I'm running the EA with a Darwinex demo account.

What do you think about posting your successful EAs here?

nice work....now if you keep your VAR steady and trade the same, you will make 21% for every 1 gain on the signal account, keeping in mind, DD works the same 1% will be 21%...but you could literally aim for 0.25% per month and be doing fantastic.

I was in the middle of testing that EA but the computer I was running it on started having issues with booting up and I haven't had the time to fix it. From what I remember, this EA does well in calm market environments but if there are sudden TACO moments, you will get a deep dd. So, just keep testing it to see what it does when Trump screws the market.

Update from my Darwinex Zero Account.

July is currently at 3.50%, which equates to an allocation of $40k. Rating is at 86+. I think I'll trade for another week and then take a week off until August. The risk engine might like that. I'm currently among the top 5% of traders on Darwinex Zero. We'll see if that stays that way.

August is my vacation, so I have plenty of time to trade. I hope I can offset the monthly fees against my profits starting in September.

Excellent work. Bring it on over to Prop Firm Hub 2.0.....we will be discussing all models of funding, so Darwinex is relevant in today's funding space. As you know, I have 3 of them.
I always do the math the last week, is risking another 0.5-1 % going to make me more this month than the new allocation will make me next month.

What are your thoughts on the account analysis? I just uploaded my account and it says it takes 24-48 hours for the first analysis. I'm...curious. Though I expect to fail every risk criteria.

I'd like Darwinex to be discussed in the new thread as well.
Being in the US, I use Darwinex Zero, I am not familiar with uploading an existing track record. Everything is adjusted to a Var of 6.5%, so trade size is kind of irrelevant, it is more of the actual move you capture and then everyone is risk adjusted to a level playing field.
If your Var is too high, you will be reduced by the risk engine, if low, it will be multiplied.
I trade very small risk, only aiming for 2-2.5% monthly, I have 1 Darwin at 0.8 multiplier, one at 1.65 and one at 1.74.
So if I make 1% on my signal account, my returns on the actual AUM are 0.8%, 1.65% and 1.74%
My advice to anyone new at Darwinex is watching all of the intorductory videos.

Thank you for sharing. I will report back with my given account analysis and hopefully learn more from you about what it means. Just for the heck of it and for learning purposes. Hopefully you can guide me more on it, thank you.

I'm beginning to think Darwinex Zero is a bit scammish. Firstly, you can't reinvest any of your profits into ZERO and secondly, the 38 euros a month adds up. For instance, if you don't hit your high watermark or no funding, then you're paying 38 euros for nothing, if you hit your high-water mark and make $380 euros then 10% of that is paid into fees, if you make $100 euros then 38% is paid for fees. Now I think Juan says the fees are for something like a commitment from the trader, but I think that's just a sales pitch. On the Darwinex Hall of Fame, if you have a look at all the people outside the top 50, they each have a total performance fee of under $25k and that's over say an average of 6 years. So, let's pretend they are all Zero Traders. If they were smart, they would be paying for two 3-year subscriptions which is around $2400. That's about 10% of profits paid in fees at the top end of the next 50. Number 100 would pay 20%.

Finally, in the Darwinex Hall of Fame, have a look at Darwinex Ticker TRO (TradeSignalMachine) who is in the top 30 of Darwins. I think this is owned by Martyn Tinsley who is famous for his Darwinex Algorithmic Trading Videos and is a very well respected Darwinex Trader/Educator. According to the Hall of Fame, he has a total Performance Fee of around $40k and he has a track record at Darwinex spanning just over 8 years. If you look at his track record, you can see that over the 8 years he averages around about 1.1% a month with a Max drawdown of 17%. Very respectable track record.

Now let's pretend that Martyn started his Personal Darwinex account with $40k Euro and let's say that Martyn was still an experienced trader at the time of inception. Let's further assume that Martyn has developed a risk tolerance over the previous years and is prepared to withstand a Maximum Drawdown of 35% on his personal account which is no problem for the risk engine as Martyn would still be trading consistently. So over that 8-year trading period, Martyn's personal trading account would make on average roughly 2% a month which is around twice what the risk engine was allowing/making. [Edit: This is not accurate, but that doesn't matter. Let's assume Martyn has scaled his lot sizes to match the 2% a month average on his Personal $40k account.]

Next, let's assume that Martyn doesn't take his profits out of his personal account and that all his algorithmic trading systems calculate their trading lot sizes off the size of his account balance. Hence creating a compounding system profit effect. So, the maths is 2% a month for 8 years while reinvesting the profits. When I type this information into the compound interest calculator on the calculator site, I get an ending balance after 8 years of $267,717.33. Which is a profit of $227,717.33. Far greater than the $40k received from the risk engine.

Now since Martyn has made around $40k from the risk engine over 8 years averaging 1.1%, this works out to be on average (40000/96) = $400 a month, which means the average monthly investment in Martyn is 400/(15% of 1.1% profit) = 400/(0.15*0.011) = 400/0.00165 = $242k. This is pretty much the same as trading a $40k personal account making 1.1% a month without reinvesting the profits. Hardly anything to write home about.

So, if my maths is correct, if you invest $40k in a personal account averaging 2% a month and compounding the profits over 8 years, then you are far better off than anyone outside the top 5 in the Darwinex Hall of Fame. And over 15 years, the profit is over $1.3 million. In the end, not even the top assets under management can compete with compounding profit on a personal account. Also, if you want to additionally add money to your personal account on top of the compounding profit, then is the risk engine the best way to go if you're not in say the top 10 of Darwinex hall of fame? You could probably do better with multiple prop firms at the start (most important part). And remember leveraged accounts are designed for leverage, the risk engine kind of removes this leverage and seems to end up making peanuts in comparison to compounding interest/profits.

Have I got the maths right? and if so, what do traders think about this?

I was not going to answer you like no one else did, cause I do not want to get involved in long back and forth but I will do it quick cause I do not know where you got these numbers but to me they do not make sense(it could be just me). Or maybe there is an error somewhere in those numbers.
You posted "If you look at his track record, you can see that over the 8 years he averages around about 1.1% a month with a Max drawdown of 17%. Very respectable track record", with all due respect 1.1% is a joke for a good trader, with 17%!!!!! drawdown.... this guy is in the hall of fame!?!?!
"Very respectable track record" the 8 years yes, the return to drawdown, is a Mickey Mouse caliber.
Something is seriously wrong here, maybe he is there because of his 8 years but he is definitely not there because of his trading.
With all humbleness if I had a 1.1% a month return I would not trade, period, seriously.....I would go for another profession, 17% drawdown,
that to me sounds crazy compared to the return.
The way I see trading is, if my return is not higher than my drawdown, I am definitely not a good trader, I might be a gambler, professionally, in banks and props, for new recruits maybe, but not that drawdown cause they cap you, but for pros it would be laughable, worked for both for over 25 years
(and I was not a top gun)
So all this to say that the number you posted above do not make sense, to me.

Now, I just started playing around with Darwinex myself, Pipmaster, convinced me from all his posts. So I have not adjusted yet, this will be my second month,
I have a drawdown of 3.27% and my return for both months is about 5.50% till now... now this is not optimal trading, cause I went through the calibration and
tried to adjust everything to my trading strategies.... but as you see I am almost 1:1 return to drawdown, and if you have a look this month I am down not even 1%,
the 3.27% happen during the calibration. I will adjust the draw down higher of course cause below 1% I am leaving money on the table, I would like it somewhere between 3% - 5%, this way my return adjusts accordingly hopefully. On my personal account I am up 20% this month with similar trades, but higher risk,
but always conservatively, it was a good month.
I have to be honest I really like this....for a long term challenge

I just saw that you can get a virtual permanent allocation of $100k for a one-time fee of $1,500 (instant / no target return).

Is this limited per person, or could I create, say, 10 Darwinex Zero accounts with 10 Darwins and purchase such a permanent allocation for each of these Darwins to achieve a total virtual allocation of $1 million at the cost of paying 15k?

Darwin is limited to that account. A user can have 10 darwins. As long you trade diffferently you can have unlimited account.

Yes so far you can have unlimited funds as long as you pay upfront fees.

To give you an example what I was thinking of:

Let's say I have 100 Darwins with 100 different strategies, each generating 0.10% profit per month, which is a total profit of 10%.

DARWIN permanent allocations (one-time costs): 100 x $1,500 = $150,000
Available capital: 100 x $100k = $10,000,000
Withdrawable amount: $10,000,000 (capital) x 0.10% (return) x 0.15 (performance fees) = $150,000

After 1 month, the costs would be recouped. Starting in the second month, a 10% profit from 100 Darwins would generate $150,000.

So why worry about investor capital?

Yes thats what I said in my couple of earlier post. You dont need external investors if you scale horizontally.
