The spread keeps changing and slippage also comes into play and these can cause the closure to seem not right at the time and also delays in processing and Broker delays.

hi all, does anyone know what could have caused the order to close? I think the logic behind strategy 1 (with marty, add to trade) is to close the orders to TP when the candle closes, however, even if the candle closed at higher price, it still exited the order, causing a loss, I think this is an issue? Im using version 10

I am presently working on the next versions of The manager and the Strategy Trader and will be doing some testing on them next week. I will be adding a manual mode to the Strategy Trader that you will be able to run by itself or enter into it even if you are in a live trade and be able to enter TP or TSL points to the trade. This will give you a possibe combination of Auto Mode and Manual Mode.
I am also working on a basket Strategy that will use Basket TP and DD points in The Manager rather than using exits from the Strategy Trader. The Strategy Trader will place the entry but The Manager will then handle it from there on using a PerCent Gain and PerCent DD for the basket as exits. You can then also use the repeat function to repeat a new basket after a basket closes. At the present time the present Strategies close trades themselves but in this Basket Strategy they will not be able to close the trade only place the entry. The reason behind this is that the basket always seems to hit a nice dollar value and then goes into DD. We will try to just catch these high points and then get out and start over again. I have put together a spread sheet to test this basket idea and so see what the best settings may be. I have seen at times 20 baskets in one week.

These new versions will be coming out in about a week or two.

I have sent out a lot of software packages but the forum has been very quiet.

Basket Trading:

Starting with $1000.00 account
Starting Lot Size = .01
TP = 1% of account
DD SL % of account to be determined but would be just a safety factor and you don't want it to close.
After 250 Closed Baskets Account = 12,032.16

You may need to increase the lot size as you go along to make it easier to hit your 1% account target.
Some days you will close more than one basket so your total number of days trading will be less than 250.

Hi Gene, this is great news!
I am testing the EA with Strategy 4 at the moment, which is in drawdown phase as we speak.
Overall i feel that a basket approach is the most reasonable to use profits of successful trades to minimize the risk of losses from loosing trades getting bigger and keep control of account equity and margin.
Looking forward to the updated functionality to setup a fresh test, or maybe go with a small live account. Let's see

Quite some DD but Marty well ahead of Baskets so too early to tell at this time where we will get to. Maybe my basket size too large at 100 $ but I thought that reasonable on a 10k account - demo of course

I am also thinking about using the "Sess DD %" as a safety valve if a basket gets out of hand but first I will try it without it as with a reasonable $TP and enough pairs to trade the TP should should be hit.

Any thoughts????????

this looks great. I like the idea of the automatic lotsize adjustment as the account (hopefully!) grows

I was about the suggest having the basket tp in pips as opposed to dollar amount, to prevent having to manually ratchet up the lotsize, but this looks like a good alternative

I like this idea! In your screenshot, it takes only 27 baskets to reach a profit of 30%. It's what you've been saying for a long time: Don't get greedy.

I have installed The Manager in my newly subscribed VPS and let it run continuously this week to see the result. Will start with Strategy 5 this week and see what happens.

I've setup The Manager in my VPS, I noticed that the date/time in The Manager is not in sync with the computer time.
Are there any settings in the EA to correct this ?

That's your MT4 chart date line, it depends on the date of the scrolled chart and changes to match the chart time line, in this case the chart that is under The Manger.

Scroll any chart and you will see it change, it does not match your computer time and is your Broker's time.

I was playing around with a 1 minute $5.00 basket scalper at .01 lot and here is what happened.
This is a MTF Strategy I am testing out.
It took 3 baskets in this experiment so far this morning.

Max DD = $12.98
