Quoting RumiDislikedI am really liking this forex tester simulator. I have the the forex interebank one but I am thinnking this other one can give the other one a run for it's money.
I was just going to mention that the forex interbank one does offer downloads of several currencies althe way back to 2001. That said I think I might go with the forex tester and look at buying it very soon. It does protofilio management and custom indicators and seem to offer more customization for a user then the one I have. I really like the fact that it offers a MT4 format and all it's many features. Seriously, one of the best things I ever did was invest in a simulator and I am amazed already by what is being offered by forex tester and I haven't even tried it yet.
There is an advantage to the forex simulator I have though and that is that it offers upcoming news and "to the second "news announcements (previous, forecast and actual) this is good because if you use a intraday strategy, news can affect the strategy. or if you use the news to trade with a strategy, this also helps. This simulator also has a trade journal to photo graph trades and record notes and ...basically a great trade journal so one can learn. It also has a risk calculator to manage each trade's particular rick % based on where you place stops. That said, the simulator needs a lot of improvement, is a bit unintuitive and lacking in needed resources. ( no 1 min data for scalpers and some of the indicators need some work; you can't even make the lines thicker or more visible)
If anyone can answer this small question about the forex tester: can one fast forward with varying speeds on the forex tester and do so soothly? This to me is very important because sometimes really want to pack as much eperience into my practice sessions yet at times need to pause and observe things for a small while. Alss, what is the main diffenrence bet the lite and professional version? I saw nothing on the website describing the diffenrence.
Other than that, if this thing offer solid indicators and data and relatively stable platform , I will seriously consider buying it. Looks amazing!Ignored
I looked at the Forex Interbank Simlutaor also and was very unimpressed with the majority of the program. I did like the news feature as you have mentioned, however compared to Forextester it seemed to lack in every other department.
Just so you know, Forextester offer data downloads on their website going back to 2001. Plus you can import MT4 .hst files which is great. You can also take screenshots, and it keeps a running tally on all your trades with an assortment of information.
I have only just purchased it so I can't really help out anymore yet but I will update after a week of testing.
Terranin, maybe you could look at implementing a similar news feature in a future build?
