First, the example you used to discredit the system feels exaggerated and selectively framed. In fact, on that very same day and instrument, I shared multiple reversionX setups — live — that played out exactly as intended. reversionX isn’t some theoretical backtest fantasy with arbitrary SL/TP levels. It’s a rule-based framework with clear structural logic, and I share these setups live in real time, not in hindsight. More importantly, it’s not just me trading this — several others are using it live and seeing results beyond theory.

On the topic of stop loss:
I don’t decide SL based on some fixed pip number. It’s adaptive, based on price structure and volatility. So saying “your SL will be hit by the 3rd candle” is overly simplistic and, frankly, misleading. Yes, some setups use tighter stops, and yes, some will get hit — that’s part of trading. But to generalize like that ignores the nuance of proper trade planning.

Now let me be very clear about R-multiples vs. pips:
I’m not a fan of counting pips. Period. Pips don’t account for risk, volatility, or sizing. R-multiples allow you to normalize performance across different trades and instruments. That’s how you assess edge and consistency over time. If you prefer tracking pips or monthly % returns, that’s your choice — but calling R-based tracking a “self-lie” honestly reflects a misunderstanding of how professional risk frameworks work.

As for the claim that “this system loses tons of pips/dollars in every trend,” — that’s simply false. That’s not feedback — it’s an unqualified blanket statement. Yes, mean reversion systems will take losses in strong trends — that’s why reversionX uses structure, momentum filters, and confirmation logic to minimize those losses. It’s not perfect, but it’s not some one-dimensional line-drawing setup either.

Now regarding your comment that “BB Squeeze is almost enough” — let’s be real. That doesn’t sound like someone interested in understanding or improving the system. It sounds like someone trying to prove a point. Squeeze is a strong tool, yes — but in reversionX, it’s the combination of filters that matters.
Each component serves a role — and MACD in particular plays a key part in identifying divergences, which are often the earliest signs of exhaustion. The power of reversionX lies in stacked confluence, not single-indicator setups.

You’re more than welcome to build your own version, trade your way, or challenge ideas — that’s the whole point of having an open system. But let’s not act like a couple of losing trades with tight SLs invalidate the strategy entirely. That’s not critique — that’s projection. If you have real suggestions to improve the system, I’m all ears. But if the goal is just to throw shade and tear it down — respectfully, I’ll focus on refining it with those who are actually here to build.

And to be honest, the so-called “improvements” you’re suggesting seem rooted more in belief than testing. You speak with certainty, as if these changes will fix or outperform the current system — but that’s exactly the kind of thinking that doesn’t hold up in real trading. There is no certainty, only probability — and assuming a new rule will “definitely” work is where a lot of strategies start to fall apart.

Also, one thing I’ve learned over the years is this: no system works the same for two people unless the rules are crystal clear and objective. I used to trade Smart Money Concepts (SMC), and I’ll be honest — I made money with it. But a lot of the time, it felt subjective. Some trades felt like pure luck. I’m not discrediting SMC itself, but the issue for me was that outcomes heavily depended on interpretation. That’s exactly what I wanted to avoid when designing reversionX.
That’s why reversionX is structured around defined rules. The filters are there not just to “look good,” but to create consistency — so that no matter who’s trading the system, 95% of the time the entry and exit will be the same. Sure, we might manage trades differently based on experience — like holding a runner or trailing — but the core signal should be the same whether it’s me, you, or anyone else using it.

Since we’re on the topic of rule-based systems, the Turtle Traders experiment is a perfect example. Richard Dennis gave a group of people — many with no trading experience — a fully rule-based system with clear entries, exits, and risk rules. Some made millions, others failed. The difference? Discipline and consistency.
Even after the full system was made public (as detailed in The Complete TurtleTrader), most traders who tried it still failed — not because the strategy didn’t work, but because sticking to rules under pressure is harder than it looks.

That’s why I strongly believe the value of a system lies in structure and repeatability — not in constantly adjusting it based on a handful of subjective calls. If a tweak or idea adds real, measurable edge — I’m all for it. But suggesting a change because it “feels” like it’ll work is not how robust strategies are built. If reversionX doesn’t align with your style, that’s completely fine — I respect that. But let’s not frame it as broken or flawed just because it doesn’t fit your personal view. I’m always open to feedback, but only if it’s rooted in reality, not assumptions.

That took us out... but immediately got an entry on 15 min.... Multi timeframe conformation would have saved us but it is what it is

1.+2R. Another valid entry on the second blue vertical line but I missed it.
2. -1R.
3. +0R. Moved stoploss to breakeven on the close of the 2nd candle following entry. Price had come to 1.9R. Could've held for +2R but not too annoyed with breaking even.
4. -1R.

Overall: 0R.

Considering another entry on EURUSD if I see confirmation and price doesn't move too close to the basis.

We can see the price struggling, and a buy signal has appeared on the 5-minute chart. At this point, we have a few options: close the trade for a small profit, move the stop to break-even, or let it run based on the original 15-minute signal.

Trade Breakdown — as always, every possible setup included

1. Trade 1: 0R (Came very close to 1.96R but reversed back to breakeven)
2. Trade 2: -1R
3. Trade 3: -1R (Not an ideal trade but for all practical purposes and considering worst case scenario.)
4. Trade 4: 0.43R

Total: -1.57R
Definitely one of those days that really tests your patience — part of the process.

Awesome..yes, we got better entry on 15 Min. Since I am doing breakdowns on 5 min without any multi time frame alignment I didn’t include that but yes it’s perfect trade.

Lets see how this goes.
Took me out at BE. Reached 1.75R and reversed. Still better than taking a loss.
