But I never said "trade them all."

If the first trade is a win, be done for the day. If a loss, wait for and take the second trade. If that is a loss, be done for the day (two losers walk away until tomorrow0.

If the second is a win, take the thrid. Win or lose, that is the last trade of the day.

The movement is always best during the first 15 to 90 minutes of the day. Trading beyond that you're asking for trouble. Also, if the market is trending or in breakout mode, e.g. if price is moving higher and it is above both the previous day's high and the previous week's high, that's breakout mode. As too slow says, when in breakout mode, trade the reversals with caution or not at all.

No discretion. Write rules and write a trading plan that tells you what you will do no matter what happens next.

You do not need to know what is going to happen next to make money.

However, you 100% have to know what you are going to do when whatever is going to happen next happens.

The trading plan doesn't control the market.

A proper trading plan controls the trader.

I am 9 days into my 20 day forward test. So far it is working out very good. I think this really pushes you to see how well you perform good or bad. I will admit even after a few losses I start to think about another way to trade this or what might improve it. But I have realized that you need to learn to live with those losses. I think I have chosen a way of trading the fixed bar that fits my lifestyle. I am trading it on a live account, but with small lots. I think this is an excellent exercise. If all goes well and I end up in profit, then I will continue on for another 20 days and maybe start to increase the lot size.

Here is my one entry from today (arrow) for +18 pts. I put my SL at the top of the range and the TP is the same as SL.

And at the end of the 20 days, you are not in profit or you are not satisfied with the amount of profit, you may then change ONE variable before starting the next 20 days.

Your attitude is excellent and you are doing exactly what Mark Douglas teaches us to do in order to become consistently profitable traders.

TP1 (fibo +0.618) = 2.3k pips
TP2 (trailed manualy) = 6.3k pips

Observed and visualy traded this way (ORB+RB as on youtube, M15 9:00-11:00, DAX) june till today I made 50 trades with 30.6k pips. If not several big news candles it would be near 0 or minus.

One (but not the only) of the problems is LO in an hour after the DAX open - big candle with wicks both ways.

Here are my two entries today on ES. Both are losses. The first one for -35 pts and the second one for -4 pts. Normally I probably wouldn't enter with such a large range on the hourly bar that is my mebob (+28 pts). But I followed my rules like a good student This is the first range that has been larger than 20 pts.

Once every few weeks someone shows up and posts these charts of computer-generated results. Almost always the data is from a bucket shop CFD firm, and not from exchange listed futures. That is a problem. The other day you mentioned the London Open and price bars that spike at news. But when I Look at the futures contract price data I do not see that as a problem. When I traded spot FX with retail bucket shops that was a huge problem. When I switched to trading futures contracts on forex pairs, the "news bar" problem largely went away.

But the bigger problem with people who come into this thread with your approach is that you miss entirely what we are about here.

This thread is about executing a simple, rule-based trading method to complete the psychological project that Mark Douglas sets out for would-be traders in his books The Disciplined Trader and Trading in the Zone.

As such, this thread is about rule-based execution and money management. If the money management I use on a futures contract doesn't give a satisfactory result on a CFD market, then you should look into changing the money management to better suit your market or change the market to which you apply the rules.

I said at the beginning of this thread that this systems thread is different from most of what we see in the systems section of FF.

You seem like a friendly guy, but you should move on, either forget this completely or start a thread of your own where you can back test 'til your heart is content. But you are a distraction to the work that the few of us who get it are about here, and I'd ask you to cease posting to the thread out of respect for the those of us who are keeping to the original intent. Nothing personal, but you aren't getting it, and you are only doing harm to the good work we've been putting in here.

Absolutely! This is - the only type of strategies that can be automated (and tested). Your set of rules is ideal for automatization - why are you blocking this possibility???

I'm not "blocking" it. You can start a thread at FF and explore the automation of these sort of methos all you want.

One might ask why are you trying to impose your world view on us? Just start a thread and explore what is of interest to you, and leave us to work on what interest us.

We are working on people here, not machines.

I'm not going to argue the point.

We had someone just like you a few weeks ago. This is not an EA or auto-algo thread.

Same as Too Slow's HOLO thread. We are not interested in programming.

We are "point and click" traders.

Let's not belabor the point.
