Gold has shown clear signs of a short-term bearish trend on the 4-hour chart, with price action forming lower highs and lower lows after peaking near the $3,450 level. Currently trading around $3,354, the metal appears to be under sustained selling pressure. The decline comes after a strong upward movement earlier this month, suggesting a possible trend reversal is in play.

Looking at the RSI, it is hovering near 47, below the neutral 50 level, which confirms the bearish momentum. While it hasn’t entered oversold territory yet, it dipped to as low as 38 recently, indicating that bears still have room to push prices further down before a technical rebound becomes likely. Notably, a bearish divergence was observed last week when price made higher highs while RSI printed lower highs often a precursor to a downside correction, which has since started to unfold.

From a technical standpoint, the key support level lies between $3,320 and $3,300, which acted as a base earlier this month. A clean break below this zone could open the door for further losses. On the upside, any short-term recovery would likely face resistance near the $3,400–$3,420 area. Unless momentum shifts significantly or RSI begins to rise above 50 again, the bias remains bearish in the short term. Traders should watch for price behavior around the support zone for potential bounce or breakdown confirmation.
