GTS Gold M5 Scalping EA Portfolio – Development Log
The GTS Gold M5 Scalping EA Portfolio is currently under active development. This system is designed for high-risk, high-reward trading, specifically tailored for the highly volatile nature of the gold (XAUUSD) market. The volatility of gold offers the potential for quick profits, but also carries an equally high risk of rapid losses.
Background:
I began testing this EA portfolio on an old demo account with a starting balance of $1,000. You can verify the trade history—I've added notes marking where the actual testing phase began.
The test officially started on June 6, with the account balance at $1,000.
The decision to start with a demo account was intentional. Due to the inherently risky nature of scalping in volatile markets, I didn’t want to expose my live capital initially. My goal is to grow the demo account from $1,000 to $8,000—an 800% ROI—without blowing the account. Achieving this would validate the EA portfolio’s strategy and stability under real market conditions.
If this milestone is reached successfully, I plan to deploy the same strategy on a live account, starting with the same $1,000 capital.
Note:
This document serves as my personal development log, capturing every detail of the EA’s performance and evolution. Since the portfolio deals with high volatility and fluctuating market conditions, it requires ongoing optimization using fresh market data to maintain and improve performance.

Progress Update – GTS Gold M5 Scalping EA Portfolio
As of recording this update, the EA portfolio has already grown from $1,000 to over $1,400 between June 6 and the morning of June 10. It’s important to note that June 7 and 8 were market holidays, so the EA was actively trading for only two days—June 6 and June 9.
This reflects a rapid 40% return in just two trading days, showcasing the EA's high-profit potential. However, it's equally important to acknowledge the associated high risk. Due to the volatile nature of gold and the aggressive scalping strategy, drawdowns and risk exposure remain significant.
We will continue monitoring and testing the EA closely to evaluate its consistency and performance under various market conditions.
======== (latest update) Discontinuation ========
After multiple attempts, I’ve come to realize that M5 scalping on Gold is extremely difficult and unreliable—especially for automated systems. While a skilled human trader might manage profits in this high-volatility environment, developing a consistently profitable EA for Gold on such a low timeframe has proven too complex. As a result, I’ve decided not to continue pursuing M5 Gold scalping with an EA portfolio.
Instead, my focus has shifted to the M30 timeframe, which, based on initial development and testing, appears far more stable and promising for long-term profitability. I’m currently in the early testing phase of the Gold M30 EA Portfolio. If the first phase shows solid results, I’ll proceed to launch a new thread titled “Targeting 20–40% ROI Monthly – GTS M30 Gold EA Portfolio.”
