Login to IC Markets today

O.K I know that icmarkets are updating their servers but is 3.13 pm Monday and I can not login....Installed new installation from their website but no luck......Would be interested if anyone else in Australia can login now.

Tried to phone their office but know one answers the phone...So this is the 3rd day for them to update servers......Not impressed.....May be time to use another broker.

I had the same issue this morning with both Mobile and desktop (both Mt4). What I did was to into Open an Account (MT4) tab and enter the account # followed by the Password and typed ICMarketsAU-MT4-Live in the Server option. This did the trick for me in both Mobile and Desktop version. I hope it works for you, I am in Adelaide by the way. Good luck!

I have tried that mate but no luck.....I have cleaned cookies and registry rebooted as well after uninstalling old version.

I will try again to-morrow and if no luck will withdraw my funds......Watching Gold go up

I am also having problems logging onto my account. I am waiting for live chat. There are 145 people in front of me so im assuming we are not the only ones

At one stage to-day there were approx. 257 waiting on live chat....So I guess we were not alone
Perhaps I could volunteer to help to answer the phones for them.

To continue trading after the maintenance, please ensure you connect to the updated server by searching for it manually and logging in with your existing credentials.
If you choose to download a new version of the trading platform, the updated servers will be available by default.
For MT5 users: please note that upon your first login after the update, you will be prompted to update your password.

For MT4 users: Please be informed that after the system upgrade, your trading account password will need to be reset. We recommend doing this through your Secure Client Area before attempting to connect to the new server.
For cTrader users: You will be able to download a new installation of the platform through your Secure Client Area and log in as usual using your CTID credentials."

So for MT4 users, I think they need to reset the password from the Secure Client Area. Have you tried that?

I use MT5, so I just reinstalled the MT5 platform to get the new server details and was asked to change password in MT5 when logging in.

I worked it out. Just re-download MT4 from the IC markets website. And logon again. It should work

mine still nok, neither mt4 nor mt5. from Melbourne. terrible! hope no margin call.

Finally I needed to change my MT4 platform password as the old one no longer worked.

Login to member client area ,find live account details....on the right side you will see account balance and under that "Fund your Account"...Next to this is a rectangle box....Click on that and it will bring up the option to reset Mt4 password

This thread baffles me, I have been with IC Markets a long time.

Which is it; you didn't get the emails, you didn't read them, you didn't understand them?

They changed the account logins before I received my email and the new AU server listed on my portal did not exist in MT4 .. successfully logged on using the closest server name - its aligned now but wasnt earlier. Changing servers has the additional task of reloading historical data if you need it too .. having said all that .. IC are on my sh*tlist due to their $9 round trip commission ..

Well so far this is what I have found - this is MT4 only and I am only focused on the EA use/performance with Pro accounts (FX assets and crypto):

Pepperston_e $7 comm round trip .. I get a slight discount to $6 per round trip. Aussie account manager too. The best for data prep - ie historical data uploading and also preservation. Execution is ok. MT4 super stable for running EAs with Pepperston_e - yes it is different for each broker. Poor Crypto choice and big spreads.
VantageFX has the best commission of $2 per round trip .. average data prep - execution is ok with tight spreads. Also huge range with low spreads on crypto CFDs is thats what you do ie weekend trading ;-)
Go_Markets : $6 comm per trip, average stability and everything else .. not bad but not great. Only have one account.
IC_markets .. they are ok but comm is too high ($9 per trip). Probably will stop using them.
Ox securities: just started using them (trying Lepus Prop) .. annoying emails during setup and data prep was not ideal. But will see how they go - I have hopes lol
FP_Markets : was ok but dont use anymore .. they did offer a $5 round trip account at one stage.

Reason for me having so many different brokers is two fold:
1) identify the most stable, supportive and cost effective broker - they all promise that same crap but the proof is in live trading over time. To measure stability I can see whether deploying a new version of my EA kills the account .. Pepperston_e accounts are the only ones that almost never crash - the others often do.
2) running identical EAs produces can different results - both frequency and performance .. for me its the quality of the data they store - Pepperston_e have a team supporting this I have heard (account manager) - I wouldnt use them if they didn't have this. Vantage are just more cost effective and offer more assets.

IC_Markets changing servers meant a far amount of historical data prep work - downloading the historical via the menus doesn't work for some brokers such as IC and GO .. they minimise data storage by keeping a small amount of historical data. If you dont need historical data then go for lowest comm with good spreads and good fills .. I think Vantage has this one.

I am not aligned with any broker - just my findings over the years.
