Another clean session, ORB held fantastic but momentum was slow today, maybe on European side it cause of rates or could be that we stuck on high looking for enough buyers

Simple morning...Wish they all were.
30 minutes 1k

Just a simple 15 min ORB trade Platinum

3 charts 1min 5min and 15...although I traded entirely off the 5 others give some perspective.

After trading the 9:05 - 9:10 mebob bar on the 5 min SP500 for 9 days, I am realizing that I can't catch all entries. I am missing about a third of them due to work. So I have decided to jump up to the 15 min and use the 7 - 8 Am EST bar on the hourly as my mebob bar. Here is my entry rules below.

1. I will wait for the 7 AM EST hourly bar to close on the SP500.
2. I will enter a long if the 15M bar closes above the mebob bar range and a short if the 15M bar closes below the range.
3. My SL will be placed at the bottom/top of the range depending on if it is a long/short.
4. My TP will be the same distance as the SL, so it will be a 1:1 risk to reward.
5. I will take any entries from 9 AM until 12 PM EST.
6. If I am still in a trade at 12 PM EST, I will exit out at that point.
7. I will do this for 20 days.

I have back tested it for the month of May and it had a profit of about 100 points. So now it is time to forward test it starting Monday. I also want to say that there are some excellent videos in this thread. It has really opened my eyes so thanks for that Vidvad! I like how simple it is. I know I have been quiet since I started my initial 20 day test. But I wanted to catch up on the thread before making too many comments or asking questions.

Microsoft OneDrive destroyed my Ninjatrader this morning on start up. I have no idea whyit did what it did, but did it it did do.

Spend most of the morning trying to reverse it. Finally I had to disable OneDrive, delete it from my computer, delete Ninjatrader and all of my persolaized and customized files, and re-install NT from scratch.

The downside is I lost 5 hours of the one real day off I get this time of year.

The upside is that I don't have any of the many, many squiggly line indicators I've accumulated, tested, and used over the years. I rebuilt the one template I need which is a fixed bar/reversal bar template.

Reinstalled the TradingTime by Ninza (Free from Ninza.co), the risk reward tool I use (free from the Ninjatrader ecosystem), and the prior week ohlc indicator which for some reason does not come installed as standard on Ninjatrader (also available for free from the ninjatrader ecosystem).

I have one chart template, and I will not be reinstalling any other custom indi's I've used over the years.

I'm taking this as a sign from the trading gods that I'm on the right track using fixed bar methodologies to fully benefit from the roulette epiphany.

I didn't trade on June 5th due to work. So I will trade DAX, ORB M15, my entry is at 8:15 London time. It is at this time that I have a 5-10 minute break from work.
I have back tested it for January - May 2025 with positive results.
My SL will be placed at the bottom/top of the M15 bar and plus 5 points. RR in the range from 1:0,62 to 1:1. Tomorrow i will start my 20 day test with my new rules.
I am grateful to Vidvad for interesting thoughts. My experience confirms many of them.

Always remember that the real objective of the 20 day test is the flawless execution of your trading plan, win or lose.

Re-watch the Mark Douglas video on youtube about the exercise.

Thank you. The video is very useful. understand trading as an evolutionary process and be consistent. This solves some psychological problems. In particular, I can't make decisions and I constantly hesitate.

(I made a mistake with the volume of the lot, so part of the lot was closed earlier. My usual lot is 0.5%. But in general, I strictly follow the rules, it's important).

Back testing is part of trading. But the fact that you are focused on the back test rather than the process is clear indication that you have not spent enough time reading the thread and understanding our objectives.
