Another gold trade — came close to TP but ended up hitting breakeven after the 10AM news. Honestly, the smart move would've been to close before the news and lock in the 1.7R. But my greedy side thought the news might push price to full TP. Just keeping it real.

Trade Breakdown – For Conceptual Understanding
Full disclaimer: I didn’t take all of these trades as I rarely trade this pair. But hopefully, this helps clarify the setups and rules.

  1. Trade 1 – Price had already crossed and closed below the basis line before confirmation — no trade or high-risk setup
  2. Trade 2 – No clear structure to objectively place the stop loss — not a valid setup
  3. Trade 3 – Clean, classic reversionX setup — valid
  4. Trade 4 – Another clean, textbook setup — valid
  5. Trade 5 – Decent setup, but confirmation came late — so it depends on your risk tolerance — moderate setup
  6. Trade 6 – Similar to Trade 5; confirmation was delayed, so it depends on your risk tolerance — moderate setup
  7. Trade 7 – Same issue as Trade 1; already closed past the basis line — high-risk or invalid

Trade Breakdown
As I’ve mentioned before, I personally don’t trade the London session. But for those who do, there were a few decent setups worth reviewing:

  1. Trade 1 – Price had already crossed and closed above the basis line before confirmation. This would be considered a high-risk entry or invalid setup.
  2. Trade 2 – Clean setup that ended in breakeven.
  3. Trade 3 – Interesting case. Depending on your trading style, it could’ve been a small win (~1.05R) or full TP. But for full transparency, I’ll count it conservatively, assuming a trader might have opened charts just before Trade 4.
  4. Trade 4 – Clean setup, but it resulted in a loss.
  5. Trade 5 – Another clean setup.

I don’t want to cherry-pick trades — transparency is key. As I always say, depending on your risk tolerance and style, you might have skipped some or taken all. This isn’t a perfect run of winning trades, which actually makes it a valuable breakdown — it sets realistic expectations

Thank you for the insights as I find these trades breakdown very informative. I'm trying to filter trades by using a 200ema but obviously the trades are not very frequent then.

So as you can see, the RSI confirmation is currently set to 0 bars, meaning it has to align exactly with the initial signal. I usually keep it that way to keep the chart clean. However, in this particular setup, RSI confirmation came a bit later and well before our two blue bars. If you change the setting to 2 bars, you’ll see the confirmation clearly. Feel free to adjust it based on your preference and style.

Thank you for posting these trade setups daily. This is really helpful. What i noticed was by the TTM gives you the confirmation MACD has allready given us the confirmation.

I actually never used the 200 EMA myself, but if it helps you feel more confident with the setups, then stick with it. At the end of the day, whatever makes you more comfortable executing trades is what matters. Just make sure to backtest it properly and journal any live trades using it — that way, we’ll have real data to review and see if it’s truly adding value

you're absolutely right — in a lot of cases, by the time TTM Squeeze gives the green light, MACD has already shown the momentum shift. That’s something I’ve noticed too. TTM acts more like a second layer of confirmation for me — not always timely, but useful for filtering out weaker setups.

If you had held the trade while closely watching the TTM Squeeze, you could’ve easily bagged 5R. The opposite signal hasn’t fully confirmed yet, but price is clearly reacting around a point of interest we can see on the left — so it’s not a bad place to exit either. The more screen time you get, the easier it becomes to spot and ride these kinds of moves.
