Hi Gene,
looking good and it seems to be nice approach to trade in the direction of a longer term trend.
How are you defining the colored boxes? Are they based on a higher timeframe analysis? Otherwise i can't imagine you place a box and have it in place for weeks.

I have another, general, question: Can you add settings in pips or %ADR to define a min distance between trades?

The Bill Williams fractal is used to add trades when in profit and going in the direction of the trade.
Marty is used to add to trades if they start to go against you and you are at a loss. It has 3 levels which can be set in the settings and adds trades 1 x lot, 2 x lot, 3 x lot.

The best thing to do is try each strategy on the pairs you will be trading on a demo account and see which one works best for you.

Nice to see you are letting those strategies do their thing.

Forex is a roller coaster and I have never found a strategy in all my years of trading Forex that can stop all the noise in Forex and never has any DD.

Next week I am going to try a CS filter to Strat 5 and create a Strat 6 to see if the CS filter will improve it some.
The Manager will calculate the CS for just the default 28 pairs and then pass it along to the chart of that pair.
Strat 6 will then only work with the default 28 pairs.
You can always turn off any of the 28 pairs by clicking their button off.
So this Start would first look for a swing point then a break of the BO Line and then a confirmation from the CS filter.
The CS is shown in the lower right of the screen shot below. I think I may have mentioned this before.
This would just be a possible add on filter to the present 5 Strategies to maybe improve them as they all are doing fairly well.
I want to filter out just a few of the bad trades and keep the good ones and maybe reduce the Dd a bit.

brilliant thanks Gene. My demos S1 and S4 are doing well, but yes there is sometimes some DD (although manageable), and any mitigation technique just to get it down a bit more would be a welcome addition

Im trialing strat 4 and 3, now going to add strat 5, I think adding the strenght filter would be a good addition.

I think you had that on your older managers and I thought it really helped.

Here are my strats 4 and 3 that starting with a $1000 this has been over a few weeks, .01 lot

Just started up strat 1 again on v10, performed well last week, 25% on a 400usd acc with 0.01 lots.


A couple of things: I wanna get some more instances running but always seem to have problems when I try and start up s9 on a new mt4 install, I'm currently getting this message:
2025.06.02 19:18:00.909 S9_The_Manager_v10 EURTRY,H1: zero divide in 'S9_The_Manager_v10.mq4' (2540,44) uninit reason 8
All the right boxes are ticked as far as I know dll imports, autotrading etc

re: preventing drawdown, have you considered a hedging option? Although this is technically a breakout strategy, from my experience seeing it in action over the past weeks I'd say the vast majority of positions initially fail and some can end up in drawdown ranging from 5-20% (based on 0.001 lot per 1000usd). Despite that, I think these positions often end up being where the real money is made which is more down to the ebb and flow of the market rather than the initial breakout. So with that in mind perhaps it would make sense to open counter trades alongside it's regular entries if price starts moving too far in the wrong direction. I think most importantly this would help mitigate some loss if the original trade doesn't make it back into profit before closing (seen some quite heavy losses due to this)

re: trading chf pairs

personally not seeing any problem with them, I'd say the problematic pairs are the closely correlated ones such as usdcad, eurgbp, audnzd etc, they seem to have a lot more chop and have given me the most trouble.

You get that error when your pair list has a mis-spelled pair or one that is not in your Brokers Market Watch List or it is the weekend and your Broker is off line.
The Manager is trying to get information from the Broker for a pair in your list and can't get it.

Thanks for your reply, and leading me in the right direction, managed to sort the problem by deleting the last pair (USDJPY) in the list then re-adding it after the manager loaded, seems to be working ok now. Just FYI tho, all the pairs listed were the default values and not mispelled, they are all on the market watch list and the broker was online, I got the same error on 2 different brokers.

whenever I get a zero divide error with the dashboard, it's usually a lack of data history. Run the below two scripts and it's always ok after that.
Force load is quicker, you might be able to get away with it just using that, but if not load history which takes ~15 - 20min, will definitely set you right
