started off well,,then several losses...I kept it tight and losses small.. But decided after 6 trades by 9:35 called her quits at a scratch.

Lasted all of 5 minutes ! haha ! Key takeaway...It aint me !... Although I came out BE..way too much energy and focus and thinking for me.
Maybe 10 yrs ago.... But that was zero enjoyment... Kudos to those that do...

Did your take profit price trade, but you didn't get a fill?

When that happens to me on the ES, I will bring my stop into some sort of profit, even if just a few ticks. In my mind, if the take profit trades but my order wasn't one of the lucky ones to get filled, I treat it as TP hit. I'll often market order out before too much profit gets sucked back.

Regardless, nice trading BT and your commitment to the process continues to inspire!

Hi Vidvad,

I just started reading this thread this past week and I really like what I am reading. I have listened to your video about the 20 day challenge of trading the mebob bar. I am going to start trading on Tuesday and will use the high/low of the mebob bar for the SL and 10 pts for the TP. I will let you know how it goes. I have been a struggling trader for a while now, so I am hoping this really helps me. I haven't caught up to the end of the thread yet, But that is the plan this week besides trading the 20 days. Keep up the good work!

Remember that the purpose of the exercise is NOT to finish in a profit (though that would be nice if it occurs).

The purpose is to teach yourself and discipline yourself to accept the outcome of each articular trade, win or lose.

The reason we struggle is that we tell ourselves that we accept the probabilities and we're ok with taking a loss, or even a series of losses, but in fact we are lying to each other and to ourselves.

This thread is, as bluesteele has said multiple times, is about execution. It is about the flawless execution of a very basic, simple trading plan.

It is the basis of Mark Douglas's exercise from Trading in the Zone, and completing the exercise without fear or flaw is the completion of the exercise.

How many times do we repeat the exercise?

As many as it takes, because until we can do so, we are fooling ourselves if we think we have any hope of become consistently profitable traders.

I will be trading on a live account but with micro lots. So I am only risking a few dollars on each trade. I feel just being real money will help a lot as we react much different when there is something on the line.

I am analyzing past week trades and decided to show this week trading equity line per 100K account on my main technique.

I use Dow futures 4 YMM25 lots per each 100K(I believe it is conservative). Green lines on the chart shows how profitable each trade was and how it finished.

It was at most challenging week, but stuck around and continued mechanically execute trades within my edge.

I have been trading successfully for 4 years now, with profits of over 100% a year and do have weeks like that.

So, I am showing this for learning purposes...sh*t happens and you go to next trade if you believe. Losses DD at the highest was -7%, however ended up with +1.5% for the week.

SP500 Mebob. Decided to start a new list of pure Mebob separate from my normal approach ( that I found very useful in conjunction with pure mebob).
Going to stick them on my desk top for comparison over the coming 20 days ( Pure mebob only). This thread has gone quiet so I wont post all trades here since Mebob is really explained from Post one by Vidvad. Good luck folks. And be aware of those mind sucking gremlins Driven warns about - they exist -just put your money on the line and they appear like the morning mist

Two days in to my challenge and the only complaint I have is I missed the final short when I was away for just long enough. But it will go in the stats as one I would have taken.

Post away, turnip. I'd be posting much more if my work schedule allowed. This is typical seasonality for me. I'm hoping soon to have things running smoothly enough to allow me some trading regularity, even if it is premarket hours and I'm gone before the NYSE open.

Dow Futures 5 Min TF ...Today live thoughts, perhaps there is lesson here...

If I Take this profit now, I will be up +140 points for today but I 100% know if tomorrow I will have losses, I will be very upset that I did not give this trade to get a chance to TP to cover these tomorrow losses. So MindF*ck/gremlins(turnip) is ever present, but there is no chance to be profitable trader if to act on it, so there is no choice, use smart MM and control MindF*ck and hope(in a business sense) that your edge for this random trade with random outcome gets where it is going.

Hope is a correct word, nothing wrong with having feelings.

I am out to Cabo San Lucas tomorrow..remembering Rocky(Mexico) now. WTF happened..still sad
