I see an endless debate in this thread, full of polemics and bringing little benefit.
- Is trading a live account more superior than trading a demo?
On one hand, trading a live account does indeed carry more “skin in the game” than a demo—but that doesn’t mean that a demo, such as a prop‑firm demo account, has less at stake than live. What we really want here is to see a trader producing real trades, not just paper analyses. A prop‑firm demo is actually tougher than a live account and has plenty of skin in the game, because you buy it with your own money, not with leaves, and so many rules to deal with. As for a regular demo account, it’s your way to learn your system as if it were live stats—proof that you’re serious, as you claim (if you’re really as confident as you say you are Pro, how could you trade live if you treat your demo casually?). - Can live or demo‑explorer accounts give an indication of how we trade?
Yes, absolutely. We can see the risk a trader takes with their strategy if all metrics are open and the statistics are complete. That’s the information we want—to seek ways to improve, not just sweet talk. - Is it impossible for a trader to lose at age 41 or 73?
No—it’s entirely possible. Even Warren Buffett has his losing years; every year brings both wins and losses. This is a fallacy born of novice psychology about the market. I hope these critiques are helpful.
The fools (the vast majority—about 90%) will stick around here just to chatter away about psycho thing, while the traders (the smart ones) will remain here to practice more and more and actually trade. If you seek the real truth, you will not obtain it; however, you can discern it through many clues. As an example clue: what do you call a trader who, after losing, doesn’t want to share their experience, whether on a demo or live account?
