E/U M1, one position

In the university i learned that the rubric is a short description of what is to come.
And i like this practice. So this thread is what its called.

Every time i reach a new conclusion or start using or stop using a old technique for trading,
i start a new thread. So this is my reason for this one.

After 15 years of trading, the conclusion is not to use multiple position, and not care much
for other TF then M1. All i ever do with higher TF is to mark down some S/R.
Im not telling you its "The best way", im telling you its my conclusion based on my experiences
being me and trading.

So what about this thread in particular? Its for memory and perhaps someone will find something
interesting in here.

How i do TA
I use HH/HL and LL/HL on M1. Also the candles themselves are HH/HL and LL/HL on tick scale.
That in and of itself is not enough, since if it was, the world marked would crash instantly.
Meaning price WILL stop making sense in those terms, at some point in time.
Historicaly it does, since otherwise the world marked would crash instantly.
If you dont see why, you havent done the math. And im not a grade school math teacher,
so dont ask me to clarify.

I make a lot of trades each day. Normaly 10-20, sometimes 40. EVERY day there are MANY opurtunties.

SL and TP i base on price action. Calculating volatility in do through price action.

What is "Strategy"?
Rather then pointing fingers and telling people off, i make a definition.
This is related to TA of course, because thats what i do here.

A strategy comes from a theoretical framework or from a broad teaching, from maps, from experience, from wisdom, from insight.
A strategy is formultated for a given purpose, in a given scenario.
A strategy is not something to always be aopted.
A strategy is adapted to circumstances.
Meaning one and the same strategy is not to be used at all circumstances.

This is my stipulated definition of "Strategy".
Its might not be a definition you would find in something general like a lexicon/dictionary or someone in general trying to teach TA (But most likely just taking your money).
But im not a dictionary, im a man.
So i dont give a fuck about that.

This definition is ancient.
This is how people used to think about it.
Since a lot of people seem to get dumber by the minute, definitions are a very murky area to them.
In fact, most areas are rather murky to them.
Im not in a position to affect that fact very much.
Since im not the god of knowledge.

And thus: My TP and SL are always adopted to fit the HH/HL or LL/LH.
Also if i HAVE a TP and SL i need to change it if within the trade new HH/HL and LL/LH is formed.
That means in practice if often have a "happy" TP of lets say 17 pip.
Seldom i get there. Often things go not so great and i close it on 5 pip, or 2.
Sometimes when things are pretty cool i close it on 10.
When i get in the shit and im hurting bad i close it for -10.
Often, maybe 50% of the time i close it on 1,2 or -1,-2, because i ended up placing my entry on a so called S/R, so it stalls there and i dont want to take further chances.

Names of so called "Strategies"
There are a lot of people arguing over names of so called "Strategies".
If could be called "supply and demand" or "support and resistance" or "price action" or "swing trading" or "scalping" or "market auction theory" or a hundred other things.
What you call it doesnt much matter.
What matter is that you close on profit.
So i dont argue names.
And i can tell you why.

Because back a few years, when there where no white in my beard, i tried talking to people and saying my strategy was called "scalping".
But there where arguments about it saying that what i was doing wasnt called "scalping".
So when that didnt work i changed the name to something else.
But that didnt work either since then where where arguments about the other name i used.
Finally i understood something that Nietzsche taught me: People are just fascinated with names of things.
And the argue over that endlessly. And it all comes to naught, zero, nothing.
Arguing over names makes no sense in the first place.
A name is merely a symbolical sound or letter combination.
Usually...
I think there might be ancient exceptions, what you would call "holy words", which carry power of their own.
But thats another thing entirely.

Dont get me wrong, its VERY important what words we use.
Especially what we tell ourselves about ourselves and how we describe other people and the world.
The connotations and the symbolical history of the words are superhuman (im using the word "super" in its normal definition).
But what you call a TA strategy does NOT much matter to its effiency.

I do use words and concepts like "price action" and "support and resistance" and so forth.
They have uses, results, effects, histories, connotations, explanations, definitions and symbolical effects.

I am the strategy
I work out about 10 hours each week.
Martial arts, yoga, running and strength training.
One of the reasons for that is to trade better.
My reason for trading is to become a farmer.
I wont go into more personal detail then that, since this is about PA, and not my personal life.

When im feeling like shit, which i do sometimes, mostly i trade like shit.
When im feeling cool, relaxed and calm i make 1-3% a day.

I have PROMISED myself NOT to use more then position at a time.
The reason for this is that as long as i do, usually i make profits.
And when i dont i end up -5% in a day, i dont sleep and i can hardly breath.

So what does that mean in practice?
If you bring up a chart of E/U and have a look at the 15+ pip moves that happen in 1-7 minutes.
It happens a couple of times a day.
Im trying to catch those.
Like i said, often i dont catch it that good.
So usually i close 10, 20, maybe 30 positions a day.
If i get it right 1-3 of those closed positions are those big, nice quick moves.

Axiom: Price differs
I was listening to Ian Mcgilchrist the other day. He was arguing against postermodernism, which i like. I perceive postmodernism as a intellectual AFFLICTION of our time. Mcghilshrist was saying that postmodernist seems to think that anything can be perceived in ANY way. Thats not accurate. Noone would argue that a horse kind looks kind of like a fly and is the same size. Noone would argue that eating rocks is kind of like eating a nice steak. So THERE IS a fundamental, underlying reality that is REALLY there, whether you like it or not. These are not Mcgilchrists examples, they are mine, but his idea was beautiful put.

With this in mind it brings me to the axiom i want to present: The price of E/U is something that is not quite accurate. Various banks have a little bit various prices, various brokers have a little bit different prices. And thats because the price if calculated from various sources from all over the world and the data feeds arent gather all the relevant data is not quite centralised and so forth. This means that there is SOME accuracy in quotes but not any COMPLETE accuracy.

This is why i often look at forex factorys CALCULATED charts, from various brokers, and i COMPARE that to my brokers data to see if im getting good data or not. Especially during news i do this.

In practice this normally means that a pippette or two is fuzzy. Meaning when i calculated S/R and such, i know i cant be to accurate, so all my S/R lines are a bit "Fuzzy".

Axiom: News are not special
For many years i wrestled with news, to stay away from it or nor and so on. A few years ago i reached a conclusion that led to practical application: I stay away from the news a couple of mintues before them, because i dont want to be IN a trade when news hits, since its kind of 50/50 which way its going to go, and i need to be WAAAAAY more accurate then 50/50. So what i do is i try to stay out of it a few minutes before, and 1 minute after news hits i start trading and looking for an entry. Which means i dont exactly trade the news, but RIGHT after.

To me it just adds volume, and i like volume. I HATE it when i see some new HH/LH or LL/HL and then NOTHING happens, it just stalls there and goes to sleep. That tells me its time to call it quits for the day.

Thats something you can do yourself. Thats why i didnt post a chart for it. Because all the info to do it yourself is in the text.

Axiom: Focus to suceed, get ready to fail
What i mean by that is that my focus initially is to suceed. To try to suceed is to have an idea of a specific outcome. I have that, but as life turns out, it VERY SELDOM turn out as you hoped. And this goes for EVERYTHING we do in life. Is not that we loose or fuck up all the time, but it doesnt quite turn out the way we thought. And like i said this goes for EVERYTHING in life: Relationships, work, training, business, learning, meditation, travelling you name it.

So when i trade and have a 15-20 pip TP in mind, its in the BEST of circumstances. I know full well it seldom happens, but i REMAIN optimistic NO MATTER WHAT, initially that is. Then I MUST ADAPT to what happens, not NOT STAY MARRIED to my position. I need to NOT take it personal that things DONT go as i had hoped. I MUST KNOW it SELDOM happens with the best outcome, but STILL hope for it initially.

In a broad, non local, non individual. mystical sense, there is no winning, no loss and no sucess. But being local, finite human means whetting your whistle and getting dirty and rummaging around in these concepts. It is inevitable. But i try not to stay there all the time. Those concepts must be dissolved during meditation, for them NOT to become axiomatic and rock like in the soul.

So dont be so hard on yourself and other people. We dont know how things will turn out, and neither do anyone else. So be kind, be humble. With yourself and others.

So maybe all im trying to be is "Disciplined"?
And this is that story.

Responsibility
Im doing this because i have had a plan for 15 years.
Im doing this for my son and my woman.
Im doing this because i want to give freely of what i can.
Im doing this because im giving away for free what seems to me to be worth millions of dollars.
Im doing this because i owe it to my dead father, even though he never understood what i was doing.
Im doing this because i had three friends who 15 years ago belived i could do it. Now there is two left, one is dead.

Right now im a poor bastard moneywise, internationally speaking.
So if anyone offered me 1.000.000.000 $ to trade for them on contract for 5 years and not do my own money, it would be tempting.
I could buy a home and a farm for that.
But hopefully i would say no.
Because i need a bit bigger farm.
Because i take on a responsibility, for the unborn, for my son, for my friends and for the dead.

Maybe i will just die tomorrow.
And i would accept that.
Not as a failure.
Failing would be not to take on any responsibility.

OK well, this is sorta like your trophy after you got it and you are being interviewed because of your accomplishments and you are saying you did it with exercise and diet and meditation etc. Obviously this thread isn't about teaching technique or anything live on the line. You already said you are the strategy. So' ya a lot of zen but no trades except the partial canned results. I am not demanding that from you. I'm just describing the content as I see it.
