We had the same type of situation last week.
Before the retracement dropped another 80 pips after opening and throughout asian session. I think it took about 8-10 hours to retrace.
The big drop in the stock market on Friday afternoon may cause a significant selloff in the asian and london sessions. IMHO

I was already short from Friday before the market closed. I was anticipating a sell off as the market closed (I took the risk) so i will be keeping a closed eye on it. As soon as it starts going up, I'll close the position wait till it retracts and short it again. Should be an interesting day with the global stock markets.

I closed my short for +205 pips

I'll wait and see how the market reacts and then take action, price has reached my 3rd target, 239.60

My broker opened a little over an hour ago (FxSol essentially). Their FxAccucharts show only a 13 pip gap on G/J between Fri and today. My charting package, which is MT4 with a MoneyTec demo account started being active 10 min ago and shows an 80 pip gap.

It looks like G/J will touch 237.60 today... keep your eyes open....i'm short since last friday.

I just got totally screwed by my broker. I had buys in place that I had set as hedges and never had the opportunity to close. I closed all my shorts friday, thinking it would retrace over the weekend and I could finally get out of the longs. To be safe, I set new sell orders below fridays closing, in case it did what it did. Because of the open buys (several of them as I was trying to clear out all my hedges), my margin dropped very low, but I figured it wouldn't matter, because my sell orders should have gone through over the weekend well above current levels.

My brokers trading opened, they filled my sell orders at the current price (not the entry price which was 100 pips higher), even though I didn't have sufficient margin to even open them. They then did an immediate margin call and closed all my positions.

Any advice?

if they have a margin policy in place i think you could argue the orders shouldn't have been opened in the first place---they may reverse for you---don't know your broker though

I would call them up and complain. Speak to a manager. I ran into a problem of that nature a few months back and they fixed it within a 1/2 hour.

contact them and complain about this problem. and don't accept or they open your orders at the price you placed or they cancel them.

I don't want the sell orders reversed. I want them opened at the order price. I have had orders placed over the weekend quite a few times, and they have always been placed at the entry I set.

I am sure that I am screwed.
