Depends on what is happening. No point having a 200 pip stop loss on gold currently while its whipping back and forth all day. You just take loss after loss. Other days you need a tight stop.

Since we already know the average range over a year, a month, and a day. Admittedly, during volatile periods, it can move extraordinarily, but setting a 30-pip stop loss after having that range knowledge is just ridiculous, At least that’s what I think based on my trading practice.

Actually, I set the SL to 50 pips. Last year the SL was 30 pips.

Perhaps its just me .. but how can anyone be looking at longs with this price action? .. thats the beauty of trading I guess, and we all see things differently .. but the only train this pair is taking is southbound .. candle over candle on weekly (last two weeks), inside bar on daily yesterday, potential lower high .. even daily is negative today already after Asia and Europe sessions. What catalyst will force this up ... don't say India Pakistan conflict .. why should this affect gold ? Please share
