Hey traders, I've decided to open this thread for those of you who have a trading idea, whether it's a strategy you’ve been testing manually, a chart pattern you watch for every session, or just a concept stuck in your head and want to see it turned into a working indicator or EA for MT4 or MT5.

I’m a full time Metatrader developer with 7+ years of experience building custom indicators, expert advisors, tools, and dashboards. I’ve worked with scalpers, swing traders, SMC/ICT followers, and price action purists from all over the world. I know how valuable it is when your strategy is translated exactly into code, not just a “close enough” version, but something you can actually trade with confidently.

Hey breakout traders! I’ve been deep in the lab refining the Breakout Robot, and I’ve got some exciting updates in the works. Originally designed for EURJPY breakouts, it performed incredibly well at launch, but as we all know, the market evolves. Just curious, why do the indicators and EA's reference GMT times?

Is it a coding issue?

The difference changes between New York and GMT times during the year; surely, using New York local time all year long makes more sense?

To me at least. Why the user has to look up GMT and then New York times when adjusting the settings?

Also, I read that GMT was basically being phased out because UTC was becoming the standard reference.

I always use the broker's server time inside the EA or indicator itself, so everything runs based on your actual trading environment. However, I use GMT in the product descriptions, references because most of the original strategy sources, like blog posts, websites, or YouTube content, originally explain their setups using GMT. That’s why I follow the same format, to stay aligned with the original strategy logic.

I understand it might feel like extra work sometimes for users to adjust the times, but really, you only need to compare GMT to your broker’s server time when configuring the tool. No need to worry about New York time or other zones unless you specifically want to. Just match GMT with your broker’s time, and you’re good to go.

Testing a New EA ??? BTCUSD & Forex Pairs Showing Potential!

I’ve been testing this EA on BTCUSD and a few forex pairs, and so far, the results are solid. The returns on BTCUSD have been particularly strong, some days are showing high ROI, though it’s worth noting this isn’t ideal for small accounts due to volatility.
Right now, I’m polishing the GUI dashboard. Once it’s ready, I’ll post some screenshots so you can see how it works.

Quick note on performance: There was a $30+ drawdown (from my manual trades, not the EA), but the EA fully recovered it by the day’s close. I went through the trades, and the recovery logic worked exactly as intended. I’ll share more details soon!!!

GridSync Pro v1.1 Update – Now Live!

I’ve just rolled out the latest version of GridSync Pro, and it’s packed with some really useful upgrades. The settings are now organized into four clear sections - Grid, Trading, Targets, and Extra, so everything is easier to find and adjust.

I’ve also added two new recovery methods to help manage risk better:

1. Symmetrical Lot Balancing
2. Partial Close Opposite

These give you more flexibility when the market moves against your grid.
On the dashboard, you’ll see the new Balancing and Close Opposite buttons under the grid rescue settings. To use either strategy, just set a Minimum Orders Amount (your rescue threshold).

For example, if you set it to 2, and you have two sell trades open, the next pending sell order’s lot size will increase based on your Rescue Threshold and Lot Multiplier. This helps recover losses faster when price reverses.
Or, if you prefer, the Partial Close Opposite method will close opposite trades when the threshold is hit, helping you stay aligned with the trend. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Working on an Exciting MT5 Project - Custom ORB EA

These days I'm developing a custom MT5 version of my Opening Range Breakout Master EA. It's an interesting project since a client requested it specifically to work with his own indicator filters and trading strategy.
I already have a solid MT4 version that performs well, but porting it to MT5 while incorporating these custom requirements has been a great challenge. The client wants some unique tweaks to how it handles breakouts, along with special confirmation filters from his proprietary indicators.

It's coming along nicely though, the core breakout logic is working, and now I'm fine-tuning how it integrates with his custom indicators. Let me know if you'd like to hear more about how this develops or have any questions about range breakout strategies in general!
