Hi Batavia, do you draw your levels manually based on HTF? IF so which HTF do you use.?

Dow Futures 5 Min TF

Today is a great day again(I am alive, happy and grateful), but a bit tough on trading,

I had 2 losses in total - 219 points and my 3rd trade running in profit now with TP and SL already placed. Will start trailing it as my MM edge will become available.

I am up 129 points and usual mindf**k are playing out for 95% of the traders. "Take Profit - your losses for today will be lower".

I heard that MindF**k in my mind for years, but for the last 4 years I worked hard and learned how to control it(Fear and Greed) and will wait for my TP or whatever randomly will happen to this trade. I am proud doing that.

That is how you become a success. Edgeful MM and controlling MindF**k. Cheers

Edit 50 Min later: Trade finished for +84 points, on to the next edgeful trade with random outcome.

This late post was due last week.

20 day challenge #1: report
I wrapped up the 20 day challenge. I'd rather call it the 20 trades challenge as I figured 20 trades would be an easier base to make rough calculations. I traded both DAX and ES.

Rather interesting outcome I must say. I know you diehard-traders out there are having massive positieve results on the ES. But my ES outcome is rather poorly opposed to the DAX. Maybe I can partly blame it on the US-elected clown who really pulled off a circus on the markets during recent weeks. Maybe things may calm down in the following period, not sure though.

Anyway, DAX looks like a keeper to me. And for the next round of 20 trades I ditch ES.

DAX: 20 trades | 14 wins | 6 loss | 11% account change

That specific candle will be the ''area of interest'' M5 candle, there are days buying and selling the breakouts will fail and you have to expect that,I have a loss recovery system that will kick in and do the job,its simple price action integrated into the zone.

Hi csierravh, for the nearest S/R levels I use the 5 minute TF, for the bigger picture the 15m and 1hr. I usually draw 2 short time levels (closer to current price) and 2 long time levels (further away from current price). It's quite easy to spot those levels when you switch your charts to those respective timeframes.

Are you trading CFD's?
I ask because I use Ninja trader brokerage in the USA ( I live in the UK) and use Futures. With Futures I pay data fees but with CFD's you don't ?

Not sure whether the same applies to Batavia (although i think it would) but on CFDs you get a fairly fixed spread and no commissions (no data feed cost).
Currently i'm looking at 2 brokers and the spread is 0.6 (60c) on one end and 0.74 (74c) on the other (used to be 47 so hmmm .. )
Essentialy there is no book, so whether that is a positive or negative .. i guess it depends on how much you pay (datafedd + commissions) per period.

Today trades
DAX: Finally I got humbled by dax for the first time. After the first trade I made a stupid decision to take revenge. Also, this is against the original rules (max. 1 long and 1 short per day I read somewhere). Still a profit factor of 2.89, so not too bad.

I had to look this up. Pepperstone does not do futures. So apparantly these are CFD's. I still paper trade.

5 Min TF Dow Futures

So, just to close on yesterday subject.. the trading day is over with +250 points. Edgeful MM and No MindFu*k, while this trade outcome randomness lasted about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

vidvad, this will be the last of this series, I appreciate your thread for letting me voice my opinion.

Looks like the spread, as measured in SP-points, is 10c below and 3c above my 2 brokers (lets say 5c for arguments sake).
This implies that your datafeed costs will probably even-out this advantage and y'r left with your commissions (for both my brokers charge none on index CFDs).

Going out on a limb here but i'm guessing CFD's are the cheaper option (esp when taking small steps/ profits).

ps. Thank you for raising this 'issue' because i was also wondering in the back of my head.
