Hi Rk, First of all thanks for sharing this stratgy. can you please confirm if the conditions are meeting. As colour didnt changed on daily yet. should we wait for first daily bar to close and then enter or we can enter now. thanks

just noticed one more pair with same conditions. NZDJPY.

In post 9 I write that you must find the good trends using some moving averages. If you do that, then you can se, that the trend i Long. I guess you ask me if you can trade Short.

No, this strategy is about finding a nice trend. And trade it when MACD and CCI gives the signal. In this case when they both turn green.

So on the EURNZD we wait for the trend to continue in Long direction. And when all filters give a go, we can trade it.

And there will be no colour change because the trend of the ma's show long and the CCI and MACD show short. Furthermore the close of the bar shall be above the fast EMA before the colour change.

Ask again if I did not explain this well enough.

You are quoting post#79 which is the setting for the MIKA indicator and you ask about a Supertrend indicator??? Please ask the right question.

Supertrend is calculated using ATR.
Halftrend is calculated using smoothed moving averages.

And normally HalfTrend is a visible line just as SuperTrend. But in the Mika case it is a channel. Breaking the channel gives a signal to invest. And not breaking the channel is a signal of ranging. So HT can identify very tiny ranging periodes. This is why Mika, which is based on HT, is special.

Last week did not provide any nice trading range for me when using the triple ribbon MA's.

I have decided that I will NOT use the triple ribbon MA's anymore. It was MA20, 50 and 100. In stead I will only use the EMA20 high and low with the Smoothed Heiken Ashi to add the colour. It gives a much better view and it is possible to have some trades that was not possible if the MA's were not in correct order. See the different view in those two charts.

I am still talking finding a nice starting trend at the Daily. Then goto M30 to find nice trades.

This methode gives a load of trading possibilities, so chose wisely.

I have made a new alarm that gives the alarm when the EMA high or low is breached. I will release that a bit later.

Thanks mate appreciate your thread.....do you mind if a verbally repeat the setup?

 

  1. Daily look for indicators to be aligned, i.e. same color.
  2. For longs look for HAS to be blue in color
  3. Look for daily candle to close outside of 20ema
  4. Scale down to m30 and look for trades following the same sequence as that of daily time frame., indicators aligned and close of candle outside of 20ema
  5. Enter the trade
  6. Manage your trade

Would you mind taking a quick look at whether I have marked the correct entries (on bar close)? I guess the key difference is that we first look for crossover of the EMA20 high/low, then we look at MACD and CCI for confirmation, instead of relying on MACD and CCI for signal.

just put the few indicators on the chart.. and use the default settings. Its not that hard
