Disliked{quote} Liquidity, volume or whatever you want to call it, theres an obvious measureable increase in activity at NY OPEN. You don't think this activity has any impact on the decision of the reference bar?Ignored
DislikedNo need to overthink things too much..ya im quite guilty of that myself. But this has zero to do with liquidity or volume etc etc... It's simply a mechanical execution method sprinkled with some money mgmt twists and let the chips fall where they may. Alot of traders issues are execution...because of uncertainty and a 1000 other reasons.. So keep it simple and just take the setup and forget about all the other BS. I'm just going to be a bad boy lol and show another chart with a shitload of squigglys. Point is do I need any of that to execute this...Ignored

Disliked{quote} You are literally making an argument, very adamantly at that, that "this has ZERO to do with volume or liquidity." You're not making a light observation, or an open speculation. You're staying your perception of the cold hard truth. This is a basis for an argument. But all the best to you too, bud.Ignored
Disliked{quote} No one has argued that this isn't a mechanically executed method. Also to vidvads point, no one is suggesting to use any indicators. The only mention of volume or liquidity from me is that when the developer of the method chose this paticular reference bar, I certainly believe he took into account volatility, volume , liquidity or whatever word you want to call it, during the NY OPEN. No one knows for certain, and everyone pretending they think know anything for certain is laughable. I'm done entertaining this mindless argument.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Chillax, ML, we're all friends hereNo one knows for sure why Mr Falk selected the bar he did. It was originally intended as a trend following method. I would think that the main reason for choosing this particular bar is simply that 20+ years ago the S&P was more likely to have trend days than it has now. Often these trends would breakout around the 10:00 AM close of the M30 OR. By waiting for a close beyond the 10:05-10:10 bar range, you were probably more likely to avoid an initial failed first break and reversal. I know...

Disliked{quote} Point taken ..but you have misunderstood my post.. Yes 5min ORB and MeBob has zero to do with volume and or liquidity or anything else. It's about execution.. that's the point. Cheers BlueIgnored
Disliked{quote} volume COULD have been taken into consideration when the creator picked the reference barIgnored
Disliked{quote} Occam's razor would suggest otherwise. Even if he did, which honestly is very doubtful, it does nothing to further the project here. Many of the people following here do not have you experience or that of driven and others. That is why blue and I are trying to keep it as simple and straightforward as possible.Ignored
