It's the default MT4 indicator so 2 bars to each side of the middle bar, as for the entry, I'm now playing with channel breakouts (first fractal out of the channel) but they are mostly fancy fractal breakouts

It's the same for me, as well. Every time I close the terminal for any reason, I'm left with about a week worth of history, if I'm offline too long (like now), I have to download the data from the history center, if it's just a reboot of the PC, I have a script that scrolls back till the start of current history (on the current server it's about two months worth of 1M data) and that's enough for me

I can't access my PC now, if you still haven't figured out a solution (I think I saw somewhere in this forum a script like mine), when my PC is back online I'll post my script here

Thanks for sharing all the EAs and strategies here. The Renko + MA cross approach is something I’ve been experimenting with, and it’s been interesting to see how it reacts to different market conditions. I’m currently testing the Renko Street EA, but I agree with Max – incorporating a time-based filter could help avoid slow market periods. I’ll definitely try optimizing it for smaller brick sizes.
Looking forward to seeing more updates! Keep it up.

DAX long +45 pips, 15 pip bricks - glad to get anything! +20 yesterday with some dodgy scalping, no trades on Monday - far too wild for me and massive spread to deter the foolhardy like wot I am

I got this today, rejection from a 00 level, I was actually in it under the bottom 00 but it retraced but it made me 50 odd pips .

First win for a couple of days, its been horrible how 'whippy' DAX has been

Ignore all the arrows, I had an indicator on the chart which I hadn't cleaned up the objects.
I do try to keep trades inside the box but as we know renko is not time based so sometimes trades are later than I might normally take. I was watching charts earlier in the week and it was glacially slow, several hours to complete a bar.

bit of a nasty spike this one if you were short.

thankfully I was long, +100

Unusually I have to post the 1 min chart. I was baffled for a bit as I couldn't figure out why I had hit TP (looking at my Renko chart) then I saw this on the 1 min.

Posting Renko chart this time seems a bit pointless as the spike is not on the chart (tested chart foreground and back but nothing). It is the first time I have ever come across this scenario. I wonder if it will recalculate when I shut down later. I hope so as I spend a lot of time looking back through charts

Hi PG, yes that is a bit odd. I missed last week although looking back the markets seemed to have settled down a bit.

Hi guys,

No charts today (my MT4 crashed, loaded up with a rogue EA on it and vanquished my small demo account, happens :S)
So, I've been playing with SnP, as this is one of the only indices my (would be) live broker offers, both demo and "live" brokers differs in point value for this, the demo has a point value of 0.1 and the "live" one has a point value of 0.01 for this index, both has a minimum of 0.1 lot size, the demo requires 2$ margin and the "live" one 153$ margin for each 0.1 position

so, couldn't wrap my head around the calculation and opened a position in both (demo on each, still haven't opened a live account) and, well, renko is set up for a 100p blocks (.00 to .00) and each block is worth......0.1$
How on earth? 10 pips block size, which is, if I understand everything correctly, a 100 points on a Forex pair is worth 1$ for a 0.01 position, how is trading indices worth my while with these results? Unless I'll be trading tens and hundreds of lots with super high margin required, I know I can trade Forex pairs but I like indices, they are more.... well, they look better even when ranging, at least for me


*SIGH* Not fishing for anyone's account size but I'd appreciate any help with this as I was quite shocked to discover this, I always thought indices were (very) high yielding assets

Thanks for replying, maybe this is all related to the fact it's a demo account, maybe on a live one the point value would have my 100 point bricks produce 100$ each (wishful thinking )
