If somebody claims that his or her system makes a specific number of pips per day make sure this is a scam. Don't even spend a cent. You'll regret it.

LOL. Here's an idea. Why not have a system that works on XYZbroker and you are an IB and the hitch is that those who wish to use your system can do so for free as long as the system is traded on an account that lists you as the IB? You could literaly make tens of thousands of dollars as an IB if the model was a winner. That might be a Win, Win situation.

I assumed that such a contract is more of a managed account than purchasing a system.

I don't know how define the mechanics of such contract.

I know that there are upcoming regulations on becoming an Introducing Broker, or at least that is what i've heard. Anyway, for know, one can still sign up with certain brokers (just make sure your "system" can work with them!) that will allow you to introduce people to them and you get a % of the spread. The end user's spread is still the same as all clients so it is not like they are paying any more for it. I know an IB acquaintence that made over 50K last year just on IB fees and he is just a regular Goe like any of us here.

What i'm saying is there is big bucks in being an IB and the end user is not being effected by listing you as the IB, they would pay the same spread anyway. It is just a thank you of sorts for letting them use such a great system.

Not at all, you simply receive a commisions check from the broker at the end of each period/month. The broker just has you on the books for a given account(s) as the person who directed that individual customer to them. You are not involved at all in the trade process.

If similar results are also achieved across a wide spectrum of currency pairs then this would be indicative that the system is tapping into something fundamental and would have a greater chance of possessing longevity as all the currencies would have to change their personalities for the system to fail.

Given this the system has the potential to make many millions of $s in the hands of institutional investors, and should be marketable in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Accrete has a good idea. I use one of the sponsored brokers by this forum where I was referred. The referring party provided a link and supplied me with some custom indicators only if I used the link to the broker and signed up using the referring party id of his. That way he receives $5 for every lot traded after all of his referred clients traded a total of more than say 500 lots (or whatever the minimum is for the broker to begin paying him). Then the broker pays you $5 per lot retroactive back to lot #1. If I trade 1000 lots this year ...... you get the picture $$$$$$$$. What do I care if he receives $5000 because the broker is receiving the 3 pips anyway and yet he is giving me a service.

Also, I am not ever willing to buy software without recommendations from someone I know (website testimonies don't count). I often buy software from vendors where I can try before I buy. That way I know what I am buying and am not willing to do without it, and therefore willing to pay more. If I don't like the software you didn't want me as a customer anyway!

Exactly cb! we'd be "paying" the broker 3pips anyway so it's nothing out of our pocket. I have a similar situation with an IB i deal with in my manual traded live account but it is one better; as not only does my IB get x% introducing commission, but i get a small kickback for the lots i trade also in the form of a check from my IB. So whereas there is an option for an IB to receive full % kickback from a broker, they can obviously choose to give their customers a slice of their commission so it is Win, Win.

So as we can see there are all sorts of workable business models out there besides simply charging XXDollars for a product. And the try before you buy is certainly feasable for a product that has no physical costs after the blood sweat and tears of its initial creation. So all you are out as its author is a bit of delay before the gratification : )

I can't imagine anyone would sell a system that performed at that level, but if they did, you could pay $1000 and get your money back in a few days. After that let the dough pile up. I think you need to make the system a bit less powerful to validate any sort of pole.

Ok, good point. I do the same. But now I have to wonder that this broker is only recommended to me so he can get his commision. I think the objectivity will go away....

If it was that good the maker of the system would guarantee the funds and and be killing on the performance fee and not the sell of the system.
