Shifted my SL too aggressively so +30 pips long, I'm sure it will visit the 300 zone very soon where my TP was sitting, 15 pip bricks:

Quiet week for me - +6 earlier and +35 long, 15 pip bricks. DAX is tricky!

Dax morning session was wicked, realizing its only 3 hours into day and i still have another 9 hours to go.

So i trade a range chart and setup can be also be down on renko, Size of bars are set at 10 points, with VWAP and KAMA

DAX short +29 pips and +5 earlier, 15 pip bricks. 050 line missing off these pics which is where I closed, price has just bounced off it:

How are you? I haven't posted anything in a while. I've been very busy at my job and trying to replicate the success I had a while back in Forex, but I haven't had much success.
Here's a small test trade. I'll be focusing on trading indicator crossovers on H4 and D1, aiming for a 1:2 profit ratio.
I hope to be consistent and manage risk well, which is my main problem.

Hi JaimeA, good to hear from you. I am very well thanks, it must be diffiult trying to manage a job and trade, I don't have that problem anymore although "life" things seem to taking up a lot of my time at the moment!

Managed to snag this one on Gold on my demo account, when all things are set and I'm comfortable with going live again, I don't think I'll be able to trade my beloved Gold for a (hopefully not a very long) time as the local broker I'll be using has higher margins and much lower leverage (partly because of regulation here)

Its tough having to trade against difficult regulations - fortunately I don't have that problem. I took +17 pips on the DAX this morning - impending tarrif regulations from the US are making the DAX even more erratic that usual - I might call it a day and see what transpires overnight!

Here you can either use a local broker or handle all the taxation yourself, I know in the US every citizen is encourage to deal with his/hers own taxes but here, at least for me, it's not that clear and if you need to pay for CPA services, might as well pay it to the broker and be done with it


+17 pips on the DAX is great!

Hi all, my trading strategies are based on analyzing bars of the same size, so I use MathTrader7_RenkoChartCreatorEA with the function “Rail to Rail”. These require a massive database of 1-min charts, data from the last few years, which amounts to around 300,000 1-min bars.
I load the data and start the EA, but if I close MT4 and reopen it, it only loads its own one-minute data from the server. This messes up my entire trading setup.
Is there a way to make MT4 load the same 300,000 bars plus the new ones accumulated while it was not running, even after a restart? Or maybe someone have any script for solving this problem?

Hi, this is a drop in to say hi, I have been back testing to start a new system but couldn't get away from the insane volatility I am seeing on DAX. I have been experimenting on a bigger scale, so 30 bricks as oppose to my once favoured 10. In fact it was Davids posts that encouraged me to look at bigger bricks.

Bigger bricks = bigger SL required but its all relative. 100 SL (on my platform that's 10000 but I still talk in 100s and tens etc). Bigger scale it seems to accommodate DAX extreme movements, honestly 700 on occasion, jeez.

On a bigger scale the number of trades decreases but I am not getting so battered in the melee of 1000 cuts (whips).

As and when they come along I will be posting again but they are often several days, even week or so apart.

Hi PG, yes it has been very volatile. I've been using 15 pip bricks for the DAX40 for some time but recently I've been trying 10 pip bricks to see if it will help overcome some of the changes in behaviour that have occurred recently. I've come to the conclusion that this was a bad idea (for me) - so I'm back to the 15 pip bricks. I agree it does make trade opportunities less frequent but I think more reliable.
