DAX Intraday March 2025

We are already into the 3rd month. Things have been slow for me the first 2 months. The strategy has been sound, but I've have seen 3 main areas I need to work on:

 

1. Focus
2. Trade Management
3. Hesitation

Patients and Discipline and the other ongoing biggies to add.

I've got some excuses lined up with general life stresses, health and 2 young kids. Although these are just challenges that we face and need to learn to work through them to become a consistent and profitable trader.

Just a refresher of the rules and regs for what I am trading.

March 2025, first a strategy recap with a couple of changes for 2025 (original here and Jan 2025 here)
Mostly DAX at London Open. Firstly, weekly review of the high time frames, looking at D1 and H1, but my main interest is m15 for direction and target and m1 for entry. I will try to align the trade with Elliot waves, but this particular post is focusing on the trade setup. I'm happy to answer any questions if something is not clear.
These are the basic checks:

 

1. Check for news and higher time frame (h1 & d1) for potential reversal levels and trend
2. Look at m15 for target, favourable price action and direction
3. Good m1 move up
4. Retrace with Accelerated Correction (AC) or Level Flip Trend Line Break
5. Confluence - usually a strong level(s)
6. Setup candle(s)

DAX 2025-03-03 10:40 Week Close rejection followed by TLB
Starting to include TLB after a rejection at a strong level. This one was for a little over 2R. An example here of how sticking to my Trade Management (holding through first rejection and locking each swing) would have benefited. Also, another highlighted problem for me was focus and hesitation and the 2nd setup was a perfect TL rejection on the 1st AC.

Could have got a lot more from DAX on this day.

1st entry was spot on...

wouldnt beat yourself on the exit either, was a place where a bounce could reasonably be expected...

this will sound easier said than done but try and forget about trades as soon as they are completed..

my guess is you were still annoyed at yourself for not leaving the 1st trade SL at original rather than thinking about the next trade and so missed the AC entry..
then you had 2 reasons to beat yourself up, SL on 1st and missed AC.. as I said, easier than it looks.
