DAX behaviour

Hello,

I have been into currencies for many years and for a few years I have been following the DE40, DAX now. It is a rough ride for sure, and quite a beast.

But especially lately, I have been wondering... its behaviour is so much less organic and natural than that of currencies, that I "suspect" it is heavily manipulated.

Today's move for instance... a 150 points drop, followed by a nearly complete "recovery" now. I understand it follows the EURUSD (more or less), but it is more subtle than that. It looks like the rate is kept high and must stay high under certain conditions, until a drop is planned (or the opportunity to drop is used) by those who benefit the most (i.e. big $$).

Any thoughts on this?

Hi, I'm new to trading. I want to learn as much as possible. I am trying to trade currency pairs on a demo account. To understand how it works. I watched some videos on YouTube for a general understanding. I would be grateful for an explanation from a person with sufficient experience.

Does this behavior mean that you need to be more flexible and responsive when trading indices? What strategy is better to use if you can't keep an eye on the charts all the time?
