I don't know about you, but I think that a lot of importance (relating to subjectivity and intuition) for understanding the importance (and the intended learning outcomes) of the mechanical stage is covered in that first half. Which is why i said what I said in my previous post.
Differently put: If you really understand the first half of the book, perhaps the mechanical stage will be accomplished a lot faster?
