Opening ranges, and daily ranges to trade i believe nothing else is needed...
By daily ranges we should have into consideration weekly and monthly ranges too for undestand the daily narratives created each day.
The same applies to 4h and 1h and so on.
How much we go lower less consistent and clarity we will have and increase the risk of having a loss.
Not necessary i don't do it, because i do it and have losses, but after a loss i check always the higher tf above to see my mistake and be align second trade with the correct fractal.

Now I know it's ICT and he gets a lot of criticism for his methods but that is mainly his short-term stuff, to me this video pre-dates all of that, the guy must have some sort of background with charts and trading IMHO.

IMO, your conclusion isn't correct.
If one creates a method before knowing the existence (and/or its meaning) of ICT, then afterwards one can conclude that the method used & ICT ain't the same.
