I hate Island -he is making me do more homework/study just when I thought I had found my forever trading approach
Again I let 15 minute dictate direction etc and execute on the 5 minute. Warning I do not follow strictly the Island approach but take and adapt to my own needs. This is one of the few threads with any interesting content. Thank you Island.
Will take a break now and get my nose down for some after trading study with the charts I save to my homework folder
UK session was not so good but profitable overall. USA session much better. ( SP500 for both sessions on UK time)
EDIT: and the 5 minute trade execution is still far better ( for me at least) than a one minute execution - less whippy/wiggly bits)

I don't have the DTosc in my trading platform, I have to export the price data out into the DT software that I own, which is sometimes a bit of a pain to do, when you just want a quick scan of markets
But as mentioned previously, you can make any Indicator replicate the DTosc (within reason), so I just use a 533 Stochastic, as it will give you the turns - I mention this as the next charts show the Multiple Time-Frame Momentum strategy in action on screen shots that I took at the time, to show to you that in the right conditions it works beautifully and they show multiple Indicators for reference
Every Saturday I do a scan for markets in my trading universe which are sub 25% on the fast line of the 533 WEEKLY Stochastic - this pulls through a list of markets that "could" be in a position for a PRICE CYCLE reversal - the market structure also has to be there, so its not a blind purchase based on the position of the stoch Indicator
In these examples the DTosc would be replicating the Stoch (within reason) if shown
Now I am a complete Gann fanatic - but that's another story - the main thing is with market structure double and triple and fourth bottoms occur etc
anyway, in this WEEKLY chart we find a chart that has the Stoch in the sub 25% zone, we also have multiple times that price has been in this price zone too - with multiple times that price was sucked into this zone and bounced from it with some nice moves, all coinciding with the stoch/dtosc etc being in the right position to reverse
You could buy the weekly bar
or you could buy the daily bar
or you could buy the hourly chart
on the 10th Sept 2024 - you get a stoch bull reversal on an Elliott Wave 2, Gann Secondary reaction, Higher Low, whatever you want to call it - you could buy the bar or a break of the swing high
Anyway, when EVERYTHING is in place, you get these types of moves and results - I just used the stochastic rather than the DTosc in these examples, but the principles are the same and shows perfectly multiple time-frame momentum trading on a different method to what you guys are looking at, but I wanted to show you its valid in the right conditions
PRICE CYCLE at LOW, 3 Momentum time-frames at lows = Bounce of some magnitude is ultra high probability
You've probably done your own stochastic research and concluded that its a load of old crap - it is, the reason for the poor results was that you weren't catching the proper PRICE CYCLE TURNS - when you do your results in terms of win rate and profit will rocket
I can't tell you how many times I've exploited this method over the years, but its a lot - its not my best system for R profit but its up there in terms of reliability and a high win rate
