Hi LT

Yeah I burnt that CAC ages ago and stopped using EON for electric, their wine is crap and overpriced too...

Still trading away and pretty much everything is automated these days apart from when I want to be overlord of many micro lots and need to nuke a few baddies.

Good to hear Fagin, yes those Frenchies sure have some questions to answer but if the news is to be believed they are just as much in the shit as us, thing is they seem to hide it so much better, mincing around, seemingly with nothing to do all day but buy bagettes and cakes, tarmac on the roads and asleep by 6pm whereas I've a feeling they didn't have to change much to film 28 years later here in the UK .
Sounds like a lot of screen time to me.

No need to cast for extras that's for sure. In fact it'll be more like a documentary not a fiction!

I'm French, and I can confirm: we are in the same situation as the UK. The government has put the country in a bad situation. Corruption is widespread in France, but nobody wants to admit it. Nobody is happy with the current politics because boomers voted for Macron (who wants to increase the retirement benefits for boomers, and this guy is politically "in the middle"). Then you have a big majority supporting the far-right (Marine Le Pen), who is seen by the center and the left as racist, etc. Finally, there is another large group supporting the far-left (Jean-Luc Mélenchon), who is on the verge of communism (he wants to tax the "rich" even more; you get the picture).
Macron benefits from this division in France. In the second round of elections, whether it's Macron vs. Le Pen or Macron vs. Mélenchon, Macron wins. So it's complicated.
Moreover, France has lost a significant part of its economic rating, and the economic situation keeps getting worse. We have one of the highest debts in Europe. Many immigrants arrive from Africa, and people who want to succeed and work are leaving because taxes are so high to support immigrants and other expenses. On top of that, some immigrants squat houses, and you can't do anything because the law protects delinquents.

Well Miquiche, welcome, I guess a little dialogue in the spirit of Entente Cordiale won't harm the thread too much. I'm not surprised about the levels of corruption, some time ago one of the OG hedgers got in a bit of a pickle with a CAC trade so we all did our best to force the index up by buying as many French goods as possible but to no avail, I can only assume the money ended up in the wrong hands. All I can say is at least you have some choice, should relocation be required, whereas us miserable Brits have few options now (although I've heard the snakes in Paraguay are quite friendly).

There is a tremendous amount of negative energy about Europe (and especially the UK).

It made little sense as an economic ideal. It is a generational disaster as a social ideal.

I try to live by the "if I can't change it don't worry about it" philosophy but I can't seem to these days.... since that wanker Starmer and his commies got in power I've lost all hope now.

Yeah, it's been six years now since I last went to the UK. I've heard that things have gotten worse in terms of population and economic growth. When I see on the news that parts of the Indian population are burning restaurants and other places, it makes me feel sad.
Personally, I'm young, and I don't want to stay in Europe because it saddens me to witness the decline of so many things—not just the economic situation. I'm French and Portuguese, and it's becoming the same thing in Portugal (mainly due to the European government promoting people who support a new version of Europe). Europe is economically dead, and, in my view, this is due to bad political decisions and the manipulation of the masses into believing that only governments can change their situation, always blaming others.
People don't want to take responsibility, and the powerful take advantage of this situation to enslave people, bringing in others who will accept tiny salaries and live in poor conditions. These people often lack a "European mentality" (which once meant growth and resilience) that Americans still seem to possess.
We are progressively losing the qualities that historically made us great. Good people leave for better countries and are replaced by "low-quality immigrants." As for the UK, I don't know the situation very well, but it also seems deeply corrupted by elites who don't want people to fight back—they want slaves.
Is it really so hard to leave the UK? Personally, I want to travel toward Russia first to see if it's really the "hell" that the vast majority of people claim it to be, even though most of them have never set foot in an Eastern country.

Good luck with your journey. Not sure where I'll go but I am off somewhere in the next 4 years or so unless there are some major changes. Sadly though I think we are too deep into this. The political corruption is off the scale and not even hidden anymore.
It's been part of a decades old plan by the likes of Soros and Gates and it's playing out nicely for them....

If you are on the early side of your life's journey, my advice would be not too get too down on things early doors as, by the time you get to my age, you'll be such a Debbie Downer you'll not get many party invitations. I always like to watch Deadliest Catch, All Quiet on the Western Front etc. If you think things are bad or having a bad day, just to get things in perspective. Also, if FF was around 200 years ago there wouldn't be too many people over 50 on the thread with such short life expectancies.

Having said all that I can honestly say the UK is in the worst state I can remember since the early 80s and you youngsters are certainly facing a much harder time than I had. Christ, I started working at 14, bought my own motorcycle, moved out when I was 16, owned hot hatch sports cars and went to nightclubs twice a week on the wages of a building labourer. At least if you're French you can head to the Med for some sun, come and have a look at some of our sea-side towns in February (assuming your car survives the roads), it's like Chernobyl on a wet Wednesday.

Yes that's the jist of it, not going to tell you how to trade as we are all different, could set a TP or wait after 5 or 10 minutes etc entirely up to you, if the market goes in one direction yes you will start getting deeper then you can start to average out e.g. if you're minus 10 or 20 pips on you're sat SELL trade then SELL again , make sure you have big bank use small lots, the more you do it the greater your confidence, try demo first for at least a month, if anyone has anything else to add please do
