Time zones in metatrader, what is it in central time?

The time in meta trader are in GMT, now what is that in terms of central US time? For example, what is 21:55 in US central time?

us central time is gmt(-6hrs)

you sure it's 6? I thought it was 8...the reason I say this is because looking back at today, the ISM number came out at 9:00am and on the chart, I remember the down move on the euro and it's indicated 17:00...

The time in metatrader depends on each different broker's server.

Even for a same broker, if it uses several servers in different timezones, each of them will show a different time, which is for example, I think, the case of North Finance (the server I'm usually on for NF is at GMT+2).

What I do is set the chart to 1 hour time frame. See what time the latest bar is labeled as on the chart and compare that to your desktop clock. Then you can figure out what the differences are...

na, gmt-8 is pacific zone time.. if you're on the windows platform go to your clock properties and click on the time zone tab.

Timezone in MT4 (StrategyBuilderFX) is GMT+2 (Russian time), so to get Pacific time subtract 10hours from your MT4 Market Watch.

It depends on what server you use.

each square for example represents 4 hrs on a 30 min chart-
so for eg, if the last date and time is 4 jan 1:00 then add 2 hrs or 1.5 hrs to know exactly what time it is according to your server.
Then, find out who the broker is - go to tools /options and there under server you will see the brokers name or location - the server.

Then use your head to always add or subtract.

Understand this tread was some time ago. Quick question. If I wanted to compare the results from Forexfactory calendar event to my MT4 (1 minute chart), which candle timing should i be looking at? Should I set my forexfactory to GMT+2 or to where i am residing (Australia). Having said that, if my forexcalendar time is set to GMT+2 and on Apr 5 9am news release. Do I go to MT4 and look at candle of Apr 5 9am too or i should be looking at a different candle stick timing?

If you set Forex Factory to the same time as your MT4 to GMT+2 then it will be easy for you to locate the news candle.
You just have to get your head around what works best for you.
Alternatively, you could always use a news indicator to draw the lines on your chart for you.
It never gets easier, you just get better

For me, knowing the time everywhere in the world is one of the basics of learning to trade.

If you cannot do that on your own, with the internet, do you really think you can beat the market?

I keep this page open in a Tab and have no need to ask random people, hey, what time is it?

And if that is too harsh, wait until you meet Mr. Market.
