Over 2 years since the thread started, makes fun reading looking back at times. Just to say I'm still making money hedging, averaging back and forth as price snakes around, no predictions and no stoploss (ever) :o). Well I guess that's not entirely true as I predict price will go one way then another and profit from that behaviour but if any of the old thread hands are still out there I'd be interested to hear what you're up to? Fagin are you out of that Fr CAC trade yet?

P.S. I know Rob is still around as he's always teasing some poor sap on the GU thread, are hurtywords still allowed in these PC times...
Sounds like a lot of screen time to me.

Hi Lazy, I've been on and off looking at this idea. I have a question since you are trading like this actively and profitably trading like this. I recently found this guy/guys on youtube (not affiliated or anything). Hedging and averaging positions in and out. Taking small gains to partly close the positions in drawdowns ...

Is this how you basically trade?

He looks about my son's age :o) so probably smarter and less cynical than me, I'll check out the video and get back to you.

Hi LT yea im still plugging away, working on an update trying to minimise DD only in it first week but here it is ...open BUY and SELL on the EU at European open then check on trades every 5 minutes close if in profit by 1 pip, check again on the 5 minute if trade still negative place a opposite trade etc, when negative trade is -10 pip place another trade in that direction, if that trade 2nd trade becomes negative by -20 pip then place another in that direction then -30 so on and so on, if say the 3 negative trades become +1 pip in profit aggregate then closed all three, while you are doing this you will be scalping 1 pip plus every 5 minutes, I tired and havn't explain it well but open to questions

Will need to process this and do my video homework laters, sounds interesting especially the minimise DD concept, managing risk and not making it easy to give up your bank has always been my go-to, profits seem to come along slowly when you master those two puppies.

+200 pips this week -30 pips, open very little DD early days yet been here before so not getting too excited ...

Davelansing has been messaging me saying that the thread has gone a bit quite, I think its because that the concept works but does need tweeking from time to time, the market price action is always changing and we have to change with, there's no easy money in trading, glad folks are starting to post again, even the smallest of ideas or tips is most welcome on this thread, so don't be shy ...

Sounds like another good variation on the theme as per most of the thread, whatever works is the right way IMO. I'm on a similar path based on something staring us all in the face, price zig-zags and rarely travels in the same direction for long. I too will open a buy/sell with no SL at the same time, I'll have a small bias depending on how I see it, but I'll simply take the profitable side and work the losing side with a small bias until it breaks even or better, 1hr or 4hr candles on EU and during the week I'll drop the buy side at close to pickup swap for an hour or so until the spread is more reasonable. My idea is to trade profitably as long as the market wanders back and forth, manage DD and trust whichever way things are heading now they'll be going elsewhere sooner or later.

Hello Mojo, started watching the video but within the first few minutes he scared the life out of me, keeps adding to his losing side with no consideration to a sudden spike or news event, I'd have no nails left if I did this on all but a tiny account and I can't be nursing my trades all day, I've got a job too . Having said that the style is not dissimilar except I'll be long and short with a small bias on one side and make little and often when the market lets me. Perhaps he starts hedging back at some point later in the vid but seems too all-in to me.
Sounds like a lot of screen time to me.

Nice drop on EU, I was short (just) so closed all for the day. I'd probably have a long bias if I opened again now but don't want any neg swap so will wait until later before re-entering.

The timing of the big drop on EU was a perfect example given today's comments, imagine being solely long with 3 positions on that, even for a short period, you'd have some serious considerations to deal with, slightly short though would be profitable and slightly long would mean you could average back or close out and realign.

Yeah, at the beginning he caught me off guard as well, with those speedy gonzales moves. They have a course/mentorship they are selling, so i think he doesn't want to show it all. But backtesting like that without considering news, trading hours or letting those daily candles run for days and weeks without managing is quite misleading.

But from what i saw in his videos is, he trades small. On that 100k account, he tries to keep his full position at around 1 lot volume and about 1% drawdown. He divides that 1 lot in to smaller chunks to get in positions. So he starts with a 0.2 lot position and takes small and often profits. Before he reaches his drawdown level, he doesn't really hedge. He just collects small profits from both sides. He starts to hedge when he reaches his defined drawdown level ...

He is using 0.01 lot per position at max overall 0.1 not 1 and account stop out is 1%
