now what you have said is nothing but the absolute truth and I wonder why they’re making fun of you, if you think you can make it successful year-over-year, trading purely technicals, you are dead wrong.

Trading is a fundamentals game, price is affected by a factor, a controlling factor. Currency prices controlling factor are its ow central banks and its own economies, Stock prices controlling factor is the relativity in its industrial operativity, Commodity prices well, the good old supply and demand.

Speaking about pure technicals, I used to be like that, well slapping chart lipstick and trying to predict where price will go, and boyyyyy was I wrong! Fundamentals run this game, fundamentals put you in the bigger picture of what’s going on, without fundamentals you would get a wicked price move that will shatter you and you would be left without understanding what happens.

I believe we’ve all been here, at the point of trading pure technicals and what makes the difference is, some of us sit down and think to ourselves, “no this can’t be right, there’s a bigger picture out there” and the ones who are not static tend to adapt and elevate their understanding.

There is no information overload in trading, it’s about how you use it.
less is more yes, but do as much research as possible, and narrow it down to be as simple as possible and I promise you, it will be such a big “a-ha” moment that your trading would never remain the same. Technicals teach trade and money management, but technicals will never teach you sustained, interpreted market direction.


to the OP, thank you for this thread, this is something that is never taught, so for the beginners (like me hahahaha) who heed this advice, do research and understand the “controlling factors” outside the charts. thanks!!!

what is market understanding? What you are saying is poetry, it cannot be calculated, quantified. It can be observed after the fact, because the basics we are taught are that price reflects everything... including human behavior... so TA specialists still have to play price...

From my own experience, I can say that people use their heads to trade. That's what they do. They've been banging it against a concrete wall for years. They call it painful process.

People are divided into smart and stupid, not interneters and offliners.
When I get on a city bus, I don't see offline people, everyone is staring at their smartphones, even the elderly... There's only one offliner on the bus I'm riding... that's me. That fact alone doesn't make me smart. But it gives me a better chance of being smart.

Very few schools in the world teach children how to think. In Poland, they stopped teaching children logic a long time ago. Instead, they have compulsory religious education and less math. I don't think they teach logic in American universities either. Why do not admit this education system fail, and start really teach people thinkin? ... yea, to difficult...

it starts at child level. if not corrected then or when grown up then person has many problems. if people are addicted to tech then they have serious problems n probbly wouldnt know whats happening even if you told em. so theres that issue. the common thread between all people. problem == dont wanna know or cant handle knowing (more importantly never been taught HOW to handle it)residual outcome = problems that breed more problems. no thought to next step.if person looks at these points they have a chance.
