No need to calculate. It's very low.
If .5% dd and a 2.4% var equates a minus 8.77 dd in my Darwin, it is Darwin's BLACK BOX formula f'up, not mine.
Maybe some real trader can shed a better light on this other than the couple of rookies that have responded so far.

momentarily is all it takes....... a single tick...... similar to a stoploss......
check your return/risk graph for values...... not equity.....

as example, from peak to trough.....
assuming highest return == 1.54% gain..... 0.0154 ...... (1+highest return) ..... (1 + 0.0154) == 1.0154 .....
assuming lowest return == -6.97% ...... -0.0697 ....... (1+lowest return) ...... (1 - 0.0697) == 0.9303 .....
( (1+lowest return) - (1+highest return) ) ..... (0.9303 - 1.0154) == - 0.0851 .....
(-0.0851 / 1.0154) == - 0.0838 ......
- 0.0838 * 100 == -8.4% .....

i know pipmaster and a few others are interested in investors...... that's a valid goal and easy to see the math......
investors would weigh on my mind and cause me to feel obligated to produce consistently.....
20 apex 300k accounts is all the investors i need...... that's just my goal, far from achieving it......
yesterday by this time i had made maybe around 3000, ended the day over 5000..... so far today, less than 200.....
i'm interested in using darwin to teach me to be a better overall trader.....

well, I just received an email from the CEO. He will have an assistant explain the risk engine to me. It won't really matter because I am not accepting a negative almost 9% max dd in an account with under 1% dd or the case of missing trades. One thing they don't understand is that their investors don't have much regard for the risk engine either. They see a 10% dd in their account as a real 10% dd as if all trades were copied 1 to 1 and the trader lost a real 10% in the underlying account. It is quite apparent from the forum posts that I posted...
I made 57K this month on MT5 (5.7%) and my Darwin is down -0.68%. I went way more aggressive this month and the DD occurred while my risk engine was at 1.34.
To protect from further losses, the risk engine said Whoa cowboy wtf are you doing this isn't the same trading that got you 2-2.5% for 4 months staright with much smaller sizes. So while the account not only recovered, but produced (by far) my best single month ever, the risk engine dropped to 0.59 during the recovery.
Yes, I recovered, but had I not, the risk engine would have cut my further losses almost in half.....that's the way it works.

Finished trading for the month. Another green month. Goal accomplished
Will get my first payday with DZero and my 4th allocation in a row. Got as high as 1.6% for November before fizzling out but made sure I stayed high enough to get the next allocation. Payday will cover the next 6 months of subscription fees. Risk factor still at 0.34. Been there for 45+ days. No worries, no stress.
Emailed the DZero CEO about my 0.34 evil black box risk thingy and told him to cancel Thanksgiving and all of his important meetings to cater to my needs.
Bedtime for Bonzo.
